I just stopped playing PvP games in general and I’m quickly giving up on co-op with randoms. All that shit is too toxic. FFXIV has been a bastion of good community vibes, and recently, to my surprise, Night Reign, but probably only because there isn’t voice chat.
Frame gen shouldn’t be a crutch, and by design it’s only supposed to enhance games that’s get above 60fps naturally. It doesn’t do anything good for the open world that constantly tanks to 45. It’s not a master race thing, it’s a poor optimization thing.
It’s more of a progression from FFX than something like Persona or the newer FF games. It’s still turn based, but its more active. It feels like what Square should have done with the franchise, instead of going the direction they did.
Yeah, I don’t think it’s a full steamdeck 2, I think it would be more like the oled upgrade. Slightly better performance and battery life. I think valve is going to lean into the cellphone model of smaller upgrades every year, with an eventual phase out of old hardware after 5 years or so.
There were rumors yesterday about it after CES. It looks like Valve is denying it after AMD said there were new processors on the way for Steamdeck. I’m not 100% sold on the denial, I think it may have been some miscommunication on the timing of the news. Either way, that’s where I got it from, I just hadn’t seen the news today about them denying it yet.
