They put out a damage control statement today saying that you can find these items in game too. Sounds like they’re rare though.

I didn’t play the first one, but I know that lots of people loved it and have been really looking forward to this sequel.

This reeks of some short-sighted execs undermining the reputation of what’s probably a fun game otherwise for some easy $$.

That was my experience playing Cyberpunk at launch while everyone was up in arms about the performance issues. I was just quietly enjoying it and knew it was just a matter of time for the devs to resolve those problems.

I’m admittedly less patient/tolerant of microtransactions though, because they’re intentional. They’re the reason I feel like the mobile game market turned into to a cesspool.

I’m not deterred at all by old graphics. It’s mostly just that I didn’t have PlayStation consoles growing up (went from Nintendo to Xbox when they came out), and I just haven’t gotten around to it. I know it’s a classic… One of these days.

I’ve been meaning to play Subnautica too… I started it, then realized it had VR support, so I keep putting it off until I get my headset set up again.

The first dark souls PC port was so bad… Lol

Yeah, I played the original port way more than I’ve played remastered. I was just happy to be able to play it! (…any port in a storm?)

Bloodborne is really good. I hope you get to play it sometime if you enjoy the Souls games.

My numbers are pretty similar. The remaster was cool, but PTDE with dsfix was where I got most of my time in.

Helldivers is a game where you play in a squad of 1-4 (solo, friends, or it’ll pair you with randoms) to drop down to planets and try to survive against bugs or automatons while completing some objectives.

The galaxy map is dynamic, with aliens pushing from multiple directions toward “Super Earth”, and the more the entire community fights on planets, the more they’re pushed back. Planets can be liberated, or we can lose them (RIP Malevelon Creek). It’s chaotic and fun, and basically “Starship Troopers the video game”.

The gameplay loop doesn’t really end. You just keep unlocking stuff as you play that you can experiment with to try to improve your armor and ship.

Stylized art is so much longer lasting than attempts to be cutting edge. It’s the reason why Windwaker looks better now than the other Zelda games of its era.
