Taako_Tuesday,

To be fair, that’s just the culture that’s come up around the game. You have to plan how you play if you want to “win” in the first 2 years, but the only thing you get is a few candles lit in your backyard, and you can still “win” in later years if you play more slowly. You absolutely can just plant some stuff around a sprinkler, sleep until they are grown, and do everything you want to do without being at all efficient with it

Taako_Tuesday,

Man I’m glad I stopped watching after volume 3 then. I remember thinking that the early seasons weren’t great aside from some action sequences, and that maybe once they got the ball rolling they could do the story more justice. But it needed to get better after V3, not worse lol.

Taako_Tuesday,

I miss when his videos were just about the records and not the drama surrounding them

Taako_Tuesday,

Started playing minecraft again, wanted something cozy to play during the holidays. I always end up committing to a really big build and then lose interest halfway through, so we’ll see how it goes

Taako_Tuesday,

Also a fan of Unbound! My last run I tried whatever setting it is that makes it so that all fully evolved pokemon have the same stat totals, which really made the game feel different and like I actually had options for building a team. Although I still found myself thinking “oh I can’t put butterfree on my team, it’s too weak”

My favorite hack is Gaia, it doesn’t have as many features as Unbound but it’s got the right vibes for a pokemon game while still having increased difficulty and QOL stuff.

Taako_Tuesday,

I finished Chants of Sennaar a couple nights ago, it was a lot of fun. Language-based puzzle game inspired by the Tower of Babel. It’s very pretty to look at, and a lot of the puzzles were really clever. My only real complaint is that I was really expecting the final level to be much more difficult, requiring me to do a lot of synthesizing of ideas from previous levels, but instead the final puzzles were pretty easy and linear. I’d still recommend it though, the first 80% of the game is great, and if you get that far, you’ll probably have the momentum to finish, the end doesn’t take that long.

Taako_Tuesday,

Ooh, thats sounds right up my alley. Used to love civilization and stellaris and those types of games, but war was always my least favorite part of the gameplay. It gets in the way of my perfect empire.

Taako_Tuesday,

Very excited for adventure mode. The colony builder was overwhelming to me, but I want to support the game, so I feel like a single-character adventure would be perfect

Taako_Tuesday,

Complicated is fine, it was the whole “things are happening on several different floors in your base and everything is happening in real time, so you have to constantly pause to handle everything”

The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion - 04-09-2023 (lemmy.world) angielski

Have you been spending hours trying to pass a level? Or maybe you are completely addicted to a newly bought game. Do you have a question about a game or would like to share something else? In the Weekly Discussion Thread, you can do it all!...

Taako_Tuesday,

Recently I’ve been playing a massive minecraft map called Drehmal, which got a big update a few weeks ago. It’s kinda like if someone made an elder scrolls game in minecraft, with lots of exploring, loot and lore to find. Unfortunately I think something about the map, either the mods needed to play it or the size, doesn’t agree with my computer and I will get a crash after a few hours of play. So maybe I should find something else.

Taako_Tuesday,

Tunic is an amazing experience, I filled multiple pages of a notebook trying to figure out the puzzles, I wish I had more games that made me do that

Taako_Tuesday,

Minecraft. I go through phases of not playing it, but once or twice a year I’ll start up a new world and just mindlessly build and mine while listening to a podcast or an audiobook, and will play every night for several weeks. I’ve started so many minecraft worlds over the years that I really don’t need to think about what to do next

Bards are Baldur's Gate 3's best class and I can't imagine playing it as anything else (www.pcgamer.com)

I was planning on paying a rogue, paladin, or warlock (based on my tabletop characters), but this article nearly has me convinced. I am waiting for the PS5 release, so any agreement or dissension from my PC friends? Other class recommendations?...

Taako_Tuesday,

I really think one of the essential parts of a well-made rpg is that it can make you feel like whichever class you’ve picked is the best one

Taako_Tuesday,

I haven’t finished either game, but i agree with everyone else in that Wrath is a much better game in terms of balance and options, and there’s no story overlap that you’d be missing if you started with wrath. If you get kingmaker on sale, the first arc is a decent story in itself and is actually the inspiration for my next campaign, so there’s definitely some enjoyable content in there

Taako_Tuesday,

Sleep research has moved on from recommending that everyone needs 8 hours or more of sleep. It’s nothing more than a myth now. Everyone is different, and for most adults the amount of sleep necessary in order to be fully rested is considered between 7 and 9, meaning a lot of people are perfectly fine with just 7 hours, and some need even less than that. In fact this review from 2 years ago suggests that we can’t even guarantee someone will be noticeably impaired with 5 or fewer hours of sleep.
