The only thing that would really need to happen desperately to make it accessibly is to either have a fun and easy to digest primer or to make the language much more layman friendly to start and introduce technical or slang terms as you go.
“There is a sequence of N unsorted and unknown numbers. You can compare, whether any number is greater than any other one by specifying their positions in the sequence. You can swap two numbers, save copies of them on a stash, and replace any number in the sequence with stashed ones. Try to sort the sequence of unknown numbers with as little operations as possible.”
I know what this means, but I had to read it 6 times to get there. Though I think this wouldn’t be task 1.
Yup, it’s not in the specs that it supports intel graphics.
These days it’s expected that any directX/Vulkan supporting card can run just about anything with varying levels of performance, back in the day it was very very specific what a 3d game engine supported. If your card wasn’t on the list it wasn’t going to run outside of software mode unless the newer version of that card had backwards compatibility features. Also later on you had to worry about very specific shader features and direct x features being supported to even get the game to look right.
Just a bit interesting how times change. They definitely should have worked with intel a bit to get it to work, at least given them a copy with some time for them to work out their drivers to support it.
If you liked that it’s based on a browser game called Kingdom of Loathing, the gameplay is not as tight or refined but there’s plenty to do and it’s pretty enjoyable to play when you have some time to kill on a work pc lol.
The stakes are just too high and the limit on time and funds you can safely earn just makes it feel stressful when it should be fun.
I can get the appeal of the risk/reward but it crosses the line from exciting and tense to anxiety inducing for me.
On top of that the game was kind of unstable on release and if you crashed it counted as losing the race and your wager etc and you cannot load an earlier save or anything, if that was the case the whole game would actually be decent apart from the lack of event variety.
It took me about 14 hours in to reveal a major game mechanic that Bethesda didn’t even mention. it’s wild how big this game is I did some goofing around and side stuff but not that much.
