Yeah that’s why I was amazed that despite the API call translation, and possible Vulkan perf loss (even if it’s not abolute) Linux still is really comparable in gaming perf to Windows, which applies that Windows optimization is pretty trash.
Interested to see other games tho. As I see, Linux performance is wildly different from game to game. For example in CP 2077 it decisively beats the Win 11, but in other games it lacks behind by 0-5%, which is claimed to be the expected perf loss compared to Win in average by the masses.
EDIT: Since WIne translated DirectX calls to Vulkan, and Vulkan currently giving a bit less FPS compared to DirectX, it’s amazing that Linux still only lags behind by 5% max on average.
Uhm I’m new here. Do I tell about the game I’ve played in this week, or what will be played on the next week?
If it’s the first one, then I’m in the middle of siphoning as many titles as possible from the Karling and Makedon dynasty in Crusader Kings 3 as the Piast family with Polania/Poland. Somehow I’ve managed to create an heir from the Piast family to the Byzantine Empire just with marriage. Karling dynasty still has 2+ kingdoms and several duchies. Another priority is to take Jerusalem from the Muslims.
Not really tbh, but Intel has adopted the little.BIG architecture which means those CPUs are have high and low performance cores, just like in the ARM/mobile CPUs. Currently these low perf cores aren’t detected correctly in Windows, and as a result it actually worsens gaming performance, but I assume this will be corrected? In synthetic/theory 13600K is better at multithreaded (cpubenchmark.net/…/AMD-Ryzen-5-7600-vs-Intel-i5-1…).
Looks cool to me, if you’re not planning to upgrade to more power hungry components. Actually I bought a new PC too in early summer partly for C:S 2 too, and your specs are pretty similar, although you should consider some things.
1.: Assuming that you will utilize a lot of mods and custom assets, a 32 GB RAM should be needed
2.: Since C:S 2 is finally multithreaded, you could also check out Intel (if you don’t care about consumption), since theoretically it offers better multithreaded performance.
Honestly I loved The Run. It was a jam packed unique short game experience. It was definitely too short for it’s price, but you know at that time Blackbox was working on 3 separate games.
Oh wow what an OG, I admire his dedication. I have seen so much Isaac runs that I have been desensitized from it a bit, but thank you for your recommendation, lemming.
