5e wasn't tested past level 10. It's incredibly unbalanced. But I'm confident Larian could figure out a way for it to feel good.

But then how will Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo ensure you have to buy their console to play their IPs?

And it still gave me 800Mbps consistently right at launch time. Good servers.

How are they going to structure this? Castlevania felt easier since there was so little story baked-in. But Miyazaki specifically made Dark Souls games hard to parse because he was trying to recreate the effect of reading english fantasy novels when he wasn't fully fluent in english.

The story in Fromsoft games are specifically sparse, spread out and require interpretation to grasp more than the bare surface. Most of the NPCs that give you meaningful dialogue are somewhat hidden. If they play is straight like a normal show, it might not feel like Dark Souls. If they make it obtuse, it'll be hard for viewers to parse in a 6-12 hour series compared to the dozens of hours players get to think on it.

Vaati pretty much has a career because of Miyazaki's storytelling style. He's excellent.

That would be cool. There's a vast amount of time between when the Lords rose up and defeated the dragons and the decline we see in DS1. We don't even see the rise of the Dark Sign and start of undead plague, but the end of it when the world has mostly dealt with it and is slowly falling apart. The rise of the Dark Sign, fall of Artorias in Oolacile could all be really cool.

Xbox's biggest crisis right now isn't games. It's hardware. (Opinion - Jez Corden) (www.windowscentral.com) angielski

"Today, PlayStation revealed that its PS5 has sold 40 million units. Microsoft doesn’t share hardware numbers typically, but court documents, math, and slides from an ID@Xbox in Brazil seem to suggest the Xbox Series X|S line-up is around 20-23 million units sold globally. That essentially puts the PS5 at a 2:1 advantage...

You're right. Hardware is close enough to parity to be irrelevant. The competition in the 2-party console market (Nintendo doesn't count, they're in a different league) is in exclusive titles. It's why the MS-Activision merger had so much focus on Call of Duty and such: MS will take all their new titles exclusive as soon as they can and that's what drives sales. People choose consoles based on what games they want to play, or what consoles the friends they play with use if there are cross-platform titles.

Neato,
@Neato@kbin.social avatar

Xbox because it doesn't have exclusives appealing enough to make them pick it over the alternatives.

Soon. Their acquisition of Bethesda and now Activision will push a lot of in-demand titles to Xbox and PC going forward. They'll be a lot more "competitive" with Sony now.

Their management kind of sucks but that isn't rare in games publishing. Publisher make insane moves all the time. Unfortunately for MS, from your list only Halo is relevant and that has had rocky releases for quite a while. Now that they can sequester Bethesda and Activision games they can probably be hands-off and just wait for exclusive sales to come in.

Exactly. Nintendo has targeted game styles that are largely being shared by smaller developers. AAA devs pretty much have to push visual boundaries in order to sell consoles while Nintendo focuses on whatever new major feature their newest console has (Wii: motion, WiiU: semi-handheld, Switch: hybrid handheld). Nintendo hasn't tried to compete with the big consoles at least since Gamecube. And their focus on few, high-quality titles for first party series means they have nearly guaranteed success every console generation (actual guaranteed success with pokemon).

To give more context, last week, the team behind TurboHUD released a version of this overlay tool/mod for Diablo 4. TurboHUD helps keeping track of your progression, your performance, and allows you to add quality-of-life improvements to the user interface. This mod was also available for Diablo 3, and a lot of gamers were using it.

A UX and progress tracker is getting people banned. How fragile is Blizzard? They're probably afraid this will somehow give people an unfair advantage for those leaderboards that won't exist for at least 6 more months.

Disney doesn't need PR, goodwill or even a bit more money. They have all of those things that is needed for them to assert complete control. And that will bring them more power and money than anything else. It's the same strategy every company has been going for a while but it's very obvious with the internet companies now.

YT has control over online video, so it's cracking down anyone avoiding paying them. Reddit controls most text-based communities, so it's preventing the same. Google knows it's the overwhelming majority of browsers, so it's trying to inseminate the entire internet to prevent anyone from seeing anything it doesn't like, or pay them for.

I wonder what the effect would be if someone hacked him and leaked his game. You know, totally out of his control. He can't stop a malicious actor afterall...
