People are more likely to go online and complain than to compliment. But why take internet comments so seriously. I have a handful of trusted sources that I use to get my opinions on games. DLC Podcast for example is a favorite of mine. I’ve gotten to know their tastes and where they overlap with mine so when they get excited about a specific thing I’ll know if I’m likely to enjoy it based on our shared interests.
When you get a handful of voices that have a strong overlap with your own taste then you can get outside of the tribalistic bitching of the hive. Comments don’t even concern me anymore.
As I get older I’ve grown to just appreciate comfort over precision. I don’t play competitive multiplayer, in fact the only multiplayer I play is COD zombies with some buddies once a week. And we all suck anyways so we’re just having a laugh. I’d much rather just lean back in my chair with a controller.
They’re a small studio with a small budget. They probably didn’t have the skills and money. The success of the game on Steam would have given them the resources to do this.
My biggest fear was arriving at the app store and seeing the word free. Glad to see there’s still people making games where you just pay and get the game.
PSN account is free, you probably already have one if you owned one of the last 3 PlayStation consoles. There are paid add-ons if you want the multiplayer or the gamepass like subscription.
Edit
What’s with all the downvotes, it’s literally an answer to the question. You fellas mad I didn’t editorialize the information with personal opinions?
Usually they don’t completely flop though, they just underwhelm expectations but if they can stay active long enough with the right amount of whales and fish they can usually break even or make a small profit. Concord is just a high profile legitimate flop that was turned off before it could do anything.
I mean sometimes it works. Pubg was the big Battle Royale in town until Fortnite (as a battle Royale) came along. League of Legends too. The problem with Concord is it took about 6 years to come out so it couldn’t draft on the hot trend.
