3D models aren’t tied to Unity, so all 3D models could probably easily be imported to Unreal.

Unity also has a 3D model exporter, so they could have used that to get all 3D models positions into Unreal within minutes.

E: still stuff like animations and game logic obviously take more time. Not trying to say that porting a whole game can be done in minutes, just the 3D Models.

Just speculation on my part, but perhaps they are using a different engine. The original was made in Unity, this one looks like it was made in Unreal.

Weird. As a die-hard collectathon lover I thought the game was “ok”. I played it after all the patches. Some challenges were ridiculous and unfun, worlds felt empty and too big at times. Controls were okay. Still fun to explore the worlda and find challenges.

From the steampage:

MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN EVER – With an art and animations overhaul and enhanced performance and resolution, the favourite buddy duo has never looked or moved better.

NEW AND IMPROVED CHALLENGES – Improvements to existing in-game challenges and many entirely new challenges to discover and undertake!

NEW COLLECTIBLE CURRENCY – Capital B’s inept minions have dropped their hard-earned coins all over the place. Collect the official currency of the Hivory Towers to spend on video games’ most beloved sentient vending machine.

NAVIGATING THE WORLD – Now you can get lost in the game, not in the world! A brand-new world map and challenges tracker helps you know where you are and what needs to be done. Hooray!

VENDI HAS PLENTY TO OFFER – Tonics are back with all new flavours! With the option to equip multiple game-changing enhancements, you can truly customise your playstyle. And as if that wasn’t enough, Vendi has new lines of merchandise for the modern fashionable adventurer.

REVISED CONTROLS & CAMERA – A new tweaked move set allows you to combine moves more fluidly while the new camera controls makes framing the action a breeze.

A DREAMY ORCHESTRAL SOUNDTRACK – The original score from famed video game composers Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie) and David Wise (Donkey Kong Country) returns but as a beautifully arranged orchestral score. Now seriously, clean out those ears

Especially like the addition of the map and the new collectable. We’ll see if the updated challenges get rid of/fix the terrible ones.

Drummyralf, do games w What are some eras of gaming that you've stopped feeling nostalgic for?

I think because the 16-bit astethic (when done right) still looks amazing today, where 8-bit is just a bit too limiting.

Drummyralf, (edited ) do games w The RTS genre will never be mainstream unless you change it until it's 'no longer the kind of RTS that I want to play,' says Crate Entertainment CEO

You don’t meed to have any advanced meta knowledge to play most games. There are options like playing against easier ai’s or similarly skilled players.

Look at some Low Elo Legends from the game Age of Empires 2 on Youtube from T90. Most don’t use advanced meta.

Heck, I as a kid never used advanced meta and had loads of fun.

The internet TELLS you that the latest meta is necessary and that you play suboptimally. But they’re just optimizing the fun out of the game for you if you’re not that kind of player.

This mentality is even worse in competetive shooters. People playing the latest “meta” even though they don’t realize they don’t even have the skill to pull that meta off. I wish the “internet” would just let players have fun in their own way. And that playing games “suboptimally” can still be just as fun and rewarding an experience.

Drummyralf, do games w Why there are 861 roguelike deckbuilders on Steam all of a sudden

I find that with the roguelikes where you upgrade in between runs, losing still feels like winning.

But to each their own of course.

Drummyralf, do games w Why there are 861 roguelike deckbuilders on Steam all of a sudden

Space Food Truck is like FTL meets deckbuilding.

Fun stuff, can be played coop too.

Drummyralf, do games w Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom devs explain why it was a much bigger overhaul than you'd think

I kinda liked the over the top anime narration. The repeated lines after every dungeon were terrible, but really enjoyed the tears stuff.

Drummyralf, do games w Looking for emotional game recommendations

+1 for Life is Strange and Detroit Become Human Both are on my favoeutie games list.

Also check out The Beginners Guide.

Drummyralf, do games w What games run well with integrated graphics?

Hmm interesting. DE is definately the better port, and minimum requirements were an intel 4000 chip, so I figured it would run on most laptops by now.

I guess you could always download the original from Archive.org. you would need to patch some stuff (I recall the water textures not working well on modern hardware) but should still work :)

Drummyralf, do games w What games run well with integrated graphics?

Basically all the classics from yesteryear… Check GOG for some great vintage games:

  • Rollercoaster Tycoon
  • Age of Empires II definitive edition
  • Sims 1/2
  • Neverwinter Nights

Also check out myabandonware.com. Many free legal old games, some of which are great.

Some more “recent” titles:

  • Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
  • Portal /Portal 2
  • Binding of Isaac
  • Vanpire Survivor Many, Many other indie games

Also check out anything 3rd party released for Nintendo Switch. Most of those pc counterparts would probably run on a laptop.

If you’re into emulating, SNES, GBA and N64 classics can be played.

Drummyralf, do games w What games do you recommend for my girlfriend?

Games that I played with my wife that wr thoroughly enjoyed

--------COOP-------- -Unravel two. Great cute platformer where it doesn’t matter if one player isn’t that great at platformers. A mpving stoey with beautiful graphics and fun coop.

It Takes TwoA platforming game with a great story. Good feels all around

-Stardew ValleyMany people already suggested this. It’s amazing. Super addictive, great coop, but can be played singleplayer as well if you’re not around

- Trine seriesAnother great platformer series. Difficulty can easily be adjusted (by allowing lifting boxes with people on it with wizard). And can also be played solo.

Escape SimulatorGreat escape room game with many small escaperooms that take about 10 to 15 minutes each to solve. Solo and coop.

-OvercookedGreat hectic coop game. I find this game quite hectic and exhausting to play for a long time, but my wife couldn’t get enough of it. Even when she was tired. Best to play coop, can be played solo.

-------SINGLEPLAYER------- My wife enjoyed management style games a lot, where you had no time pressure of any sorts.

- Strange HorticulturePuzzle game where you try to find the right plants by deductions. No time pressure, very relaxing. Only single player, although you could play it together.

Planet ZooProbably the best zoo management game out there. Wife was addicted to it for months

Planet CoasterSame as above, but with theme parks

**Cities Skylines (first one)**Great city planner

Hope this helps!

Drummyralf, do games w Which games do you dislike, but the rest of the world loves them?

I really think the weapon durbility system is a mindset problem. It’s the same problem with any rpg where at the end of the game you have hundreds of unused potions “just in case”. Don’t get me wrong, it is still on the designers to change a players mindset about items.

But I found myself enjoying BotW and TotK waaaay more when I switched to: “I don’t care about my weapons, everything is expendable”

Drummyralf, do games w Which games do you dislike, but the rest of the world loves them?

I think I played the first chapter about 6 times. Everytime around the time I rescued the waterdavian creatures I get bored.

Drummyralf, do games w What are some of the best mini-games youve played? (games inside games)

Doesn’t completely fit your description of minigames, but I spent days playing Casino card games with Luigi in Super Mario 64 DS. And the Hide and Seek game was great too.

Those minigames are separate from the main game though.
