There is a literal DOG doing a speedrun of Gyromite on Tuesday

youtu.be/IvShUE5zIXE?si=uWRhqoiiCXvIu14g

Also any Doom game is always worth watching! Also Donkey Kong or Sonic games

And the awful games block is always hilarious, I think starting Wednesday night / Thursday morning with Beetlejuice, and running all the way to Skator Gator 3D, I know Virtual Hydlide is a funny one in there, and Skull Island: Rise of Kong is one of the newest games ever featured in an awful games block

The schedule is a bit easier to read and Ctrl+f here: horaro.org/agdq/2024

Die4Ever,

Worms speedruns in the past have been really cool, definitely looking forward to that. And Mario 2 is always amazing.

Die4Ever,

There’s a few moments in Telltale’s The Walking Dead series, but especially season 1

Die4Ever, (edited )

welcome, Agent Calavera

The 11th Hour is pretty rough and frustrating lol, but if you can deal with the difficulty (or have a walkthrough ready) then it’s still enjoyable (definitely use ScummVM for this game)

The 13th Doll is much more palatable, The 7th Guest VR is great too

Deus Ex Randomizer - WaltonWare mode (www.youtube.com) angielski

WaltonWare mode is focused on quick wins by completing a single bingo line, and increasing difficulty after every win. The bingo goals are all scaled to their minimum settings and you start in a random area. All bingo goals will be completable within just a few maps!...

Die4Ever,

you can actually edit posts in Lemmy, so unlike Reddit you could edit this to remove that stuff

Die4Ever,

Zombies Ate My Neighbors – Wide Mode

Simply increases the playfield area on screen from 256×224 to 320×224. Seems to be compatible with other patches.

so simple, but probably a good improvement for co-op play

Die4Ever,

Do you know some more hidden remake gems?

OpenRCT2, eDuke32 and other Build Engine source ports, Doom has many source ports

and ScummVM for many old adventure games

Die4Ever,

I did my full playthrough on my PC, but after this update I did try it in on the Quest 3’s little processor and it was quite impressive for a battery powered device!

The Steam news page has more notes about the update in general

List of 20 great Horror Adventure Games (adventuregamehotspot.com) angielski

We’ve limited ourselves to only one game per series, and of course there are many frightening adventures not included here. No list will be exhaustive, but our choices reflect a wide range of looks and styles and gameplay that will surely appeal to the fearmonger in any horror fan. If you find thrills in chills, and crave...

Die4Ever, (edited )

Wow they forgot to put The 7th Guest at #1 (or the new VR remake) 😡

Strong list though, and we did get an honorable mention under Scratches

Die4Ever, (edited )

I got a Quest 3, pre-ordered just for this game lol. Not my first VR game, I’ve played some on my sister’s Oculus Rift, and played a couple things in the week I had my headset before this game came out. I think the headset is great, really cool to be able to wirelessly link to the PC or play standalone, and the passthrough mode is cool too. And the cameras can auto create your boundaries too which is very convenient compared to my sister’s Oculus Rift.

T7GVR was awesome, you could tell the devs were real fans of the original game.

The puzzles aren’t as difficult as T7G or T11H, but there are a larger number of puzzles to compensate, and the puzzles still force you to think. People hated how difficult T11H was in 1995 lol so that would be even worse today, there’s no way any puzzle game could be that difficult today and expect to sell more than 5 copies lol.

And the soundtrack is full of beautiful remixes of the original songs. The volumetric videos are really cool and the graphics and art are great. The acting is good too, not as over the top as the original, but no one would’ve taken that seriously in this day and age lol.

Totally understandable about spoilers. I hope you enjoy the game!

We have a Discord community which is much more active than this. We’re very careful about spoilers there with separate channels for spoilers and even still using spoiler tags. We’ve also got a couple of the devs in there. discord.gg/Hss5cJg

Multiple fans of the OG in our community are gushing over this game, haven’t heard anyone who doesn’t like it.

very funny playthrough of Tender Loving Care by supergreatfriend, reading everything in the game (some NSFW dialog/text) (youtu.be)

The 10 year anniversary of the channel was marked by a stream of a full motion video game with quite possibly the horniest main character ever. And it’s not a fun kind of horny, it’s an angry kind of horny. Well, let’s enjoy(?) this '90s sexual psychodrama full of '90s ideas about sex and power....

Trilobyte Games, The 7th Guest, The 11th Hour, Tender Loving Care interview with Rob Landeros and David Wheeler - Pixel Refresh (www.pixelrefresh.com)

In my latest podcast, I interview Rob Landeros co-founder of Trilobyte Games and co-founder of Aftermath Media David Wheeler. Between them, they have been involved with such classic titles as The 7th Guest, The 11th Hour, Tender Loving Care and more....

Die4Ever,

I think they’re mostly just a publisher now, but they’ve been putting out good stuff.

Die4Ever,

Hell yeah, The 7th Guest! I was a little kid when we got this game and the family used to play together trying to solve the puzzles, good times. Gave me nightmares lol.

Btw we have !stauf_mansion

Die4Ever,

!adventuregames

and use ScummVM for every game it supports (even for you Windows gamers out there)

List of specific video game communities on the Threadiverse, feel free to comment with more (kbin.cafe) angielski

When I mean “specific,” I mean things like something dedicated to a certain genre, a certain video game, to gaming suggestions, to asking whether you should buy a certain game… anything that isn’t just one catch-all for any video gaming topic. So I’m not including the various !games@instance or !gaming@instance links....

Die4Ever, (edited )

ok this is really niche, but The 7th Guest series (with The 11th Hour, and The 13th Doll, of course the upcoming VR game, and maybe some other related games like Clandestiny and Tender Loving Care)

!stauf_mansion

and the Deus Ex series !deus_ex

also some communities for my mods for games (like Deus Ex Randomizer) lemmy.mods4ever.com/communities

[Rumor] Nintendo Switch 2 Will Come With 12 GB RAM, Ray Tracing Capabilities; Unreal Engine 5 Demo Ran With DLSS 3.1 (wccftech.com) angielski

Speaking on X/Twitter, Necro Felipe, Universo Nintendo editor-in-chief who correctly revealed information regarding Nintendo products and games in the past before the official announcements, revealed that, according to their sources, the new console will be ray tracing capable and will come with 12 GB of RAM, which is a big step...

sqhistorian, do adventuregames
@sqhistorian@dosgame.club avatar

@adventuregames Test posting from Mastodon. Please ignore this. I'm new to this and vulnerable, like a faun in the woods... but tough, like a faun with a machine gun!

Die4Ever,

Don’t lead with the “@adventuregames” tag. It’s messy.

part of it is due to the bugged formatting, which should be fixed in Lemmy 0.19.0 I think? maybe 0.18.5 if that happens

Figure out if there’s a way to split title and post content in the Mastodon toot, so the post content isn’t just a copy of the title.

I think you just need a line break in the toot, or maybe a blank line

Die4Ever,

They should’ve figured out a way to communicate that the Series S will last until next gen, but the Series X would get more cross-gen games when next gen launches

Or they should’ve known that RAM is hard to scale on and they could’ve included an extra 2GB or so in the Series S lol

But I’m actually a believer that BG3 could be made to run on XSS even with split screen, it’s just gonna take more work and reduced graphics maybe audio quality too, and smarter data streaming from the SSD

Die4Ever,

making the clock chime every time a new room is unlocked is a great idea

randomly found this post, but this is exactly what I do with lemmy.mods4ever.com

only my admin user is on there and it isn’t subscribed to any remote communities, Lemmy is barely using any resources on my server it’s basically free

I’ve actually thought about running 2 separate instances like lemmyusers.mods4ever.com and lemmycommunities.mods4ever.com or something like that
