World Games was so good they made a spoof sequel of sorts called caveman games. A lot of people remember world games, it was a well received game. You had so many actually forgettable garbage games to choose from…
Hehe. World Games was an Olympic event type of game for the NES and other systems back in the late 80’s.
It was actually a well reviewed and enjoyed game, so I’m not sure why he decided to use it as an example when there were so many other actually bad games back then. It also caused a “spoof” game to be made on the NES called “Caveman games”, which did a similar game style, but set in caveman times with caveman events. I preferred caveman games as a kid, and still do. Racing against a friend on who can rub sticks together and blow on the smoke to make fire first is still a blast. So is beating the other guy with a caveman club. Good times.
Man. It sure sucks I only start with a water can and 500 coins in Stardew Valley. I could do so much more if I could just start with 20 upgraded sprinklers and 20,000 coins.
Outside of it looking like a game from 2012, it seems to be very much pay to win, clunky, and I watched their videos and looked through pics and read the description on the games page…Not a single picture or mention of Will Smith at all. Nothing.
I mean…the weak start is kind of the basis of every rpg and almost every fps in existence. You start with the crappy bb gun and then somehow you end up becoming an all powerful stealth archer, even though your game doesn’t even offer a bow to use.
Apparently all the purchases you can buy are cheaply available in game with the in game currency, and there’s no real reason to pay real money for them unless you’re like some live streamer goob.
What I’ve heard from people playing the game, is that those and everything else you could pay real money for is dirt cheap to buy and purchasable with the in game currency that you earn by playing the game and that you earn the in game currency quickly enough that you aren’t having to grind anything if you want to buy the stuff.
There are ways to play (besides mods) where you barely have to grow crops. Unless you’re trying for all the achievements there’s not really a wrong way or a time limit to play.
Buying a steam deck significantly increased by gaming time. The ability to immediately suspend and resume my gameplay, and not have to go over to my desktop helped a lot. I’ve played more this past year than I have in the last 3 years combined.
I just bought Brotato for like $3.74, because I just finished 100%ing Vampire Survivors on my Steam Deck.
Mandatory you should own Stardew Valley by now, and his big v1.6 update finally comes out next week.
Hades is on sale for like $12.50. It’s on sale for $12.50 more than it’s not on sale, really.
Red Dead redemption 2 and two spider man games are also on sale.
Really, it’s a steam sale. Just buy everything that’s at least 40% off till you’re broke. My backlog is probably already bigger than I have years left.
