As someone who has barely put any amount of time into BG1 and only played Larian’s previous title, Divinity Original Sin 2, if you are okay playing turn based RPG, it’s absolutely worth the money IMO. The interactions and way you can traverse through the world is pretty amazing. Almost every encounter or area has a large amount of opportunities on how you can approach or avoid
It’s be so great if they all formed a new studio and just started a new franchise as the spiritual successor. After the disaster of Andromeda and the middle of the road game that inquisition was compared to its predecessors, I don’t have much hope about the fantastic writing of previous games coming back.
I didn’t like mine and subsequently didn’t buy many games for it because of its over reliance on the game pad, and the game pad draining its battery over night if not plugged in. Can’t access settings without the game pad, the game pad checked for updates and content way too often so the battery drained am quite often over night. Along with again, over reliance on the game pad where a lot of games I wanted to play, it was primarily built around the pad so controllers didn’t feel natural for the games
I’ve been playing Divinity Original Sin 2 with my partner, we both never really got that far into it in the years we both owned it, so we’re trying to get more into it in anticipation of playing Baldurs Gate 3
Not even, you still have to consider different components and operating systems, sometimes even what versions of the OS people are running since it’s not always cross compatible.
the people that use the steam community forums is minuscule compared to most forums. I doubt it would have had even 2% of the playerbase organized via the forums.
it’s like how when reddit users say “let’s boycott a game!” but then in total, the make up less than a % of total sales of that game
It’s still a good game, it just sucks as a fallout game. Like, the dialog is extremely linear. You have 4 options (you had more in the other fallout games) and it’s almost always a “yes”, “yes 2”, “more dialog” and “no”. It’s likely changed to accommodate controllers better and have less lines for the player character, but it just sucks that’s it’s the case.
Sorta the same with the story bits. In New Vegas nearly every, if not all NPCs were killable and you could still finish the story
