Yes and yes.
Keep an eye open for opensignup pages on the interwebz for trackers. Some open entirely while others you need to apply for with seed proof (public seed does not matter).
Some private trackers may have an invite forum. You could try to achieve a class with access to it (usually a high threshold of seed or commitment, showing you know how the rules of such sites work)
Usually you do not have a static IP anyway. Sure you could probably backtrace the DHCP of your ISP to the date yout that IP got issued…But that is IMO a bit overly paranoid.
Though to be fair’ I don’t know why they don’t like VPNs for signups. Most likely to enforce IP based bans for not following rules or for entire banned countries.
If you don’t really care about the rules, just do it on signup but don’t connect US -> DE but instead US -> US. That way they may not care enough to enforce rules.
One tracker even mentioned that the rules are there. Some are strictly followed (like naming rules), while others are not followed as strictly.
Basically your are being held responsible for seeding it either 1:1 or for some time if you cant reach that goal.
Longevity is rewarded on some trackers with more bonus points you can trade for stuff like Upload credits. The longer you seed, the more you can get per seed.
Usually privates can get exclusive stuff which trickles to public trackers but they also pull from public (like anime from nyaa) and reseed them here. Some private tracker users are unable to download from public because either their ISP watches that more closely or their seedbox provider does not permit it/banned connections
The general quality is >=720p and usally a higher bitrate than public ones.
Sime trackers are general (like 1337x and TL), specific for movie and tv (like RARBG and Blu) and some others for topics like ebooks and audiobooks, music/-videos, learning materials.
Some may even only allow content that was produced >10 years ago (cathode) or something like cartoons (old toons) or culture specific (like jptv and nyaa) only.
Not like I don’t agree. Those vile people should.
But something like that or actually confidential stuff you don’t want others to see is a valid reason to encrypt it.
Sounds like it’s not the issue of the tracker at all. Just invest in a small seedbox either self hosted or get a proper non-free vpn. Not exactly rocket science…
Huh? It cant be easier. With just a 2TB drive and 2 years I collected 8TB in upload on this tracker alone.
This is one of the easiest if you can seed 24/7
Why would you need file encryption?
Not like having a drive full of movies is illegal…Except if OP has CSAM stuff inside. Than it should be very encrypted in case of loosing (or not depending if OP wants jail time).
The reason you set a steam shop location. If it’s longer term it may be beneficial to change the region but usually you can let it be whereever you want.
