This has always been the case when “buying” things on Steam. Almost every digital good you buy is like that

Same problem as Magpie, that’s because they wrap the game window into another window which has desynced refresh times and horrible input lag. I really don’t know how people can play using this

Luckily we already have maaaany good games available to download. So even if all future games were only playable on some cloud I wouldn’t give a fuck

I use dedicated cpu cores and other tweaks on my setup to reduce game input latency. Steam is always the 1 fucking program that randomly starves my remaining cores for absolutely no reason
