TwilightKiddy, (edited ) w EMPRESS.bin

I assume it creates some sort of save file in the current working directory?

You may try changing the working directory via batch script, if you’re on Windows.

Make a text file, name it something like launch.bat (the actual name may be whatever you want, just make sure you leave the extention .bat) Paste this there:

<span style="color:#323232;">@echo off
</span><span style="color:#323232;">cd /d "%~dp0"
</span><span style="color:#323232;">start "" "game.exe"
</span>

Be sure to replace game.exe with your game’s .exe filename. Don’t delete any double quotes, they are important.

Put this text file near .exe file of your game, and make a shortcut of it to your desktop. You may rename a shortcut and choose an icon from your game’s .exe file to make it pretty.

After that just launch the shortcut as you normally would. If I’m correct, the game should create it’s .bin file in the script directory and not in your desktop.

hunt4peas,

I’ll try this and let you know the outcome later.

CmdrShepard, (edited ) w Need help to make a super simple setup for my mom !

Not that this was one of your listed options, but have you considered setting up your own Plex/Jellyfin/Emby server along with the *arrs and adding her to that? You can’t get much more snappy and Netflix-like than that.

I can’t imagine this would offer a very pleasant viewing experience for a first timer when it relies on stuff like YTS, RARBG (they need to update their page apparently), KAT, EZTV, and TPB. I can see the potential for her to be bombarded with a bunch of fakes and low quality rips.

oldGregg, w how do I watch British and Irish tv channels for free unlimited

pewgar_seemsimandroid,

YoMismo, w I got some malware yesterday, here are the sites I visited as a warning

You never visit this kind of sites without a minimum of an ad blocker installed. My advice :

  1. uBlock Origin with the recommended filters installed > github.com/yokoffing/filterlists
  2. A Userscript Managers (I use Tampermonkey) with an anti ad-block killers scripts.
piracyismurder,

Instead of tempermonkey i use violentmonkey it’s open source and does the same thing.

YoMismo,

violentmonkey

It’s still in beta, maybe will give it a try when a stable release is out.

BrandoCalrissian9229,

I presently have both uBlockorigin and Brave’s native adblockers at work, so not sure how it slipped through there. Definitely gonna look at the userscript manager though

DestroyMegacorps,

dont do that if you are gonna play to use ublock origin stick to ublock origin as braves built in adblock can interfere with ublock origin which can make sites slower to load

ram, w I got some malware yesterday, here are the sites I visited as a warning
@ram@lemmy.ca avatar

What type of media were you pirating?

BrandoCalrissian9229,

movie and tv streaming and sports. I wonder if it wasn’t one of the sports sites as it was a sports betting pop up, but the susflix was the only site that seemed to have anything bad according to the virustotal site.

mateomaui, w I got some malware yesterday, here are the sites I visited as a warning

noted, don’t use a website that calls itself sus

BrandoCalrissian9229,

as it were, I wouldn’t have, but it was in the FMHY wiki as a starred site, so I figured it was trusted

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Never trust anything that’s usually paid?

BrandoCalrissian9229,

it wasn’t actually netflix, it’s literally a site like Fmovies but with the name susflix??

AnEilifintChorcra, w How can I use yuzu If I don't have a switch in the first place?

Fitgirl also has some repacks of popular ones and I’ve personally had good experiences with stuff from Sineater213

smokeppb, w I got some malware yesterday, here are the sites I visited as a warning
@smokeppb@hexbear.net avatar

sickomogusflix should have seen that coming ngl.

BrandoCalrissian9229,

probably but it was on the FMHY wiki with a star, so idk. Kinda weird that one of the best and most trusted pirated resources would have a malware site listed as one of the best options

rikudou, w How can I use yuzu If I don't have a switch in the first place?

Those files can be found by googling, no one here is likely to share them because sharing them is illegal.

tiwenty,

looks at the sub 😏

RussianKun,

He probably meant this: lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/18438

tiwenty,

Ok that makes sense, thanks!

nothacking,

General discussion of illegal activities is legal, but distributed methods/keys/software to bypass DRM is not. In addition to the poster getting in trouble, the admins of multiple instances could at minimum be forced to delete the content, and at worst get their asses kicked by Nentendo’s legal team, and be forced to reveal the identities of the user that posted it.

tiwenty,

Fair enough, I didn’t read the rules.

rikudou,
@rikudou@lemmings.world avatar

In my jurisdiction downloading pirated stuff is perfectly legal. It’s only illegal when you’re distributing it. And even for jurisdictions where it’s not legal even to download pirated stuff, companies don’t much care about people who download, but only those who upload and as far as I know, you can discuss pirating all you want and nothing’s illegal.

tiwenty,

Interesting, thanks!

Kissaki, w How can I use yuzu If I don't have a switch in the first place?
@Kissaki@feddit.de avatar

Have you tried searching for them?

Chewy7324, w Need help to make a super simple setup for my mom !

Just wanted to add that you might want to use real-debrid or a VPN, depending on your jurisdiction. Nothing worse than your mom receiving expensive letters. Though I guess it’s not a problem since you’ve been doing it for a while.

Chewy7324, w What about non-torrents sites serving cracked software?

Look for monetization. Bandwidth costs money which makes torrents great since ideally everyone shares the burden.

Ads alone probably won’t cover the burden, so they either have a subscription or have another agenda. Some might be legit for a while to sell out to the highest bidder at some point.

That said, there’re some examples of someone just loving to distribute e.g. Wii or older games. They usually have really slow download speed though.
