What happened to the micro part of microtransactions? This is why I only bought one skin in Genshin Impact since they give you extra funny money for your first time to get it, but a second skin will double than the first so I’m never buying one ever again.
You being downvoted is puzzling. Romance was by far the most popular thing in baldur’s gate 3 after all, this was the best thing at the time, both skyrim and mass effect were awkward compared to today.
It was flawed from the start, clearly people that love COD and magic aren’t that big of an intersection, also like people said already the magic acted more like guns and they had a pretty dumb system of calling it by their colors.
Still looked fun though, but I would never pay the asking price for it.
Crazy how that didn’t happen with Anthem and Babylon Fall huh, maybe because it is different and there is something people like there. Will it be enough to keep going? I don’t know, but having micro transactions in a full priced game does deserve the hate.
The ONE time people wanted Ubisoft to just reskin one of their games (Black Flag) they instead chase live service money while having WAY less features than a 10 year old game.
I was very interested in mods for this game, people found all kinds of fun cut stuff that would’ve elevated this game so much like companions having commentary for several quests when you used a mod to bring them, and having actual consequences for using the dark arts. But it’s impossible to implement.
Imagine that, teens dating… What a wild concept, they didn’t even had to play Persona, our own culture is filled with teen drama series, even DC made gotham academy.
Maybe in your fantasy world, but in real life when a game bombs the studio gets cut down, downsized, etc. Volition was recently closed because of the bombing of the Saints Row reboot. Avalanche is great studio and I wish them to continue existing.
You also don’t need an iphone or mac since there are plenty of other smartphones and PCs available, but nobody stopped buying them because foxxcon used slave labor.
Everyone draws the line where they want, this controversy only exists because people were trying to guilty trip streamers and anyone online from playing it, do not try to rewrite what happened.
You aren’t wrong, there was an unpopular opinion thread some weeks ago and several zelda fans called both BOTW and TOTK just ubisoft open worlds with a zelda skin. They are both carried by their IP (even though I love these 2 zeldas), the worst Zelda (Skyward Sword) still sold 4.15 million units, just counting the HD version, the Wii version sold 3.67 million.
Because they are wrong? You don’t actually think everyone that bought it is a trumptard do you? Please touch grass, twitter drama isn’t relevant to the real world.
On January 26, the organizers warned they’d have to switch to CS2 if nobody signs up. Despite its open nature, they received zero signups. “Valorant is not dead.” assured the announcement post.
I’m glad at least the professional vtubers that I watch all played it just fine, Nintendo has too much power, just hope the devs don’t get into any mysterious fatal accidents since Big N’s headquarters is right in the middle of a yakuza territory.
Which indies did you discover and would love more people to know about? I’ll start: The Pale Beyond. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem tbh, but it’s such a good story rich game. I laughed, I cried and felt the characters struggles. If you like story rich games/ choices matter, check it out.
Andor’s Trail is a foss roguelike with a twist that it’s story based, something quite rare in this genre.
Immortal Life is a farming game but with a Wuxia twist where you can use chinese magic to help you do your chores and there’s a twin stick combat inside the dungeon. What surprised me was seeing the game selling well on steam, but never seeing a single article about it, strangely common with chinese indies over here.
Okay let me start with two heavy hitters right from the get go and don’t forget these are only personal oppinions and I absolute understand if you like those games. Good for you!...
I don’t care how good the story is, 13 Sentinels gameplay looking like a cheap sci-fi movie interface thing just takes me out of the experience, I also don’t like tower defense style games and this is the only thing you will do in-between story beats. I was extremely letdown to get this after the first teasers instead of a mecha vs kaiju brawler.
Then some months later it comes out that localizers were also changing things too far, now I have another reason to not finish it.
Why are you twisting things around? It’s Nintendo fans that won’t shut up about plagiarism to the point that the The Pokémon Company told everyone that they know, stop sending emails about it.
Have you been spending hours trying to pass a level? Or maybe you are completely addicted to a newly bought game. Do you have a question about a game or would like to share something else? In the Weekly Discussion Thread, you can do it all!...
Having some fun in palworld with a friend, but I’m obssessed with Immortal Life now, a farming game with a wuxia theme where you can use chinese magic to help you water crops and stuff, very cute and a nice QoL for these games.
This is why his videos about this issue are great, he dismantles every single argument against it like “just buy physical”, The Crew has physical versions, they won’t work just like the digital one.
He just likes driving around and nothing more, it’s his podcast/tourism game, but also the perfect one since it happened after he started this fight for preservation and it’s not sold as service but as a product, unlike MMOs.
Yeah, no one is arguing games shouldn’t have online, just that they continue to work after the devs are done with them, have an End of Life plan like the late Avengers game, or the gacha Megaman X Dive that got an offline version sold on steam and consoles.
Since it’s free they were never sold to you as product, their asses are covered on this one, you can make an arguement for Elder Scrolls Online, Black Desert Online (I bought this one, I have the receipt to prove it) and Guild Wars 2 since they use the b2p model with an optional subscription. Car licensing can only prevent ubisoft to sell the game, it’s not required for them to shut it down and render your copy unusable.
You just made it look even worse for Ubisoft since the first 3 Horizon games work offline and everyone that bought them can still play it just fine, you just can’t buy them right now.
Just played it through gamepass, it’s incredible how a survival game is much better when you have these pals to help out and don’t have to do everything yourself, I bet this game will get very factorio-like down the line.
I’m glad they were looking at Anniversary and Legends instead of the reboot by square enix for the modern version of controls, loved those games on PS2.
His take was a breath of fresh air coming from reading askagamedev blog for years, where he said that you should pay 150 bucks for a used videogame from 30 years ago instead of pirating.
I don’t think a single publisher platform has any future, AAA games are taking longer and longer to make, there’s no benefit to stay subbed when you can go months without a new game, compared to gamepass that has deals with other devs and publishers so there’s new things to play every month.
I already saved a lot of money just by playing cocoon, jusant and like a dragon Gaiden in the last months since games in Brazil are 10x more expensive than a gamepass sub, and can’t wait for the Persona 3 Remake.
I’m glad fromsoftware goes against these predatory trends and only announced elden ring’s DLC way after the game was already out, doesn’t matter what you say or what execs think, announcing a DLC before the game is even out leaves a sour taste in the consumer’s mouth.
I recently played Alien Isolation, and I noticed all of the “hacking” she does on doors and computers are different types of games, like press the button at the right time, or match the images within a timer, etc....
The host club manager minigame in Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 2, I don’t even remember their rewards, just that they were very fun. Compared to the real state minigame in 0 that was so boring I only remember the prize at the end, at least it was worth it
spoilerYou got Kyriu’s original fighting style as a 4th one that breaks the game with a fanservice scene that references the cover art of the first game.
I always found the GTA ones pretty lackluster, even bowling was more fun in the Yakuza games. The videogame arcades and consoles in San Andreas were the only ones that I had fun.
I already skipped the ps4 and instead built a PC, as you can see from my avatar Sony doesn’t have anything to offer me anymore since japanese third parties started porting everything to PC and they closed down japan studio.
Also the PC version is often not censored or at least has a patch.
