Haven’t played in around a year and a half. Shame, it had been a weekly thing for our little 3 person crew. We had even started to be able to hold our own in PvP ship battles.
Stuff has been leaking about the next Half Life game since Episode 2 came out, and not much of it had anything to do with what we ended up getting with Alyx. Don’t get your hopes up newbie.
What? Search nointro on archive.org for collections of cartridge games. Search redump there for disc based.
Anything not on archive (usually newer releases, or disc based games from PS2 or later), try some of the resources from the wiki/megathread on db0.lemmy.com’s piracy community.
Don’t miss out on Mario Vs. Donkey Kong (GBA, with a recent Switch remake). It’s the psuedo-sequel. The sequels to it though are completely different gameplay styles, unfortunately.
They only care as far as going after large targets running rom sites (archive is much more than that, so they skirt by) and emulation of modern consoles (they go after the devs). They will never go after an individual just direct downloading and emulating shit.
Brother, have you heard of our lord and savior, emulation?
Outside of a few weird edge cases, everything up through N64 era is easily emulatable. PS2 is… okay for most popular games but still actively being worked on.
There’s even video shaders if you want to make it look like your old boxy TV. A lot of games from that era have graphics made with CRT screens in mind.
yt-dlp is generally the best open source tool for downloading/backing up videos from the internet. Despite the name, it works with thousands of video streaming sites, not just youtube. Completely free. I would never pay for a video downloading software.
It is command line based though. I’m sure there are forks with a UI, but I’m not familiar with them. There is a fairly detailed wiki for it, and a discord support channel. The defaults are fine for youtube back ups.
I would reccomend uploading whatever you back up to the Internet Archive. Then you aren’t responsible for hosting, and it’s available to the public.
I’ve found personally that even with changing refresh rates, variable refresh rate screens eliminate screen tearing and I’m a lot less likely to notice it.
This specifically is an easter egg ending in Chrono Trigger, requiring you to have beaten the game once before to access it.
Chrono Trigger allows you to warp to the final boss and try to beat them before you would reach them through the plot, from very early on in the game. A lot of the special endings require you to do that and win at various points in the story, which isn’t possible for most of the game unless you carry over stuff with new game plus.
I believe this ending requires you to start new game plus and then take the warp to fight the final boss as soon as you possibly can.
Don’t quote me on that though, the game has something like 13 endings and I canct keep them all straight.
The Ship of Harkinian OoT decomp team have moved on to 2 Ship 2 Harkinian for MM, which is rapidly catching up to this separate static decomp project. I’d imagine that once it is done the individual randomizer comes next, then combined.
If you don’t care about it running as a PC port, there already is a combined rando that results in an n64 rom.
