simple,

I’m just worried GTA 6 will have an online focus considering how wildly successful GTA Online has been.

simple,

Their version of EAC actually does work with Linux/Steam Deck. I’m playing on Linux. They’re planning to move to a different anti-cheat for their official servers but I believe community servers will still be able to just use EAC.

Holy cow, that’s huge. Fables is a very well-beloved universe, good on him for giving it to the public. I hope this opens the door for an adaptation of the comics. Alan Moore would be proud.

simple,

ARM macs. The x86 ones are way too weak.

simple,

TL;DR of the situation is that Unity released a statement 2 days ago saying they want successful developers to pay up to 20 cents every time a user installs a Unity game starting from Jan 1 2024, even if your game was already released. This caused a huge ruckus in the game dev community and many developers want to switch away from Unity.

simple,

If it’s a 3D game, UE is a safe choice. If it’s 2D I’m willing to bet they’ll go with Godot.

simple,

I can’t imagine wanting to play a AAA game on a phone, but that sounds really impressive. Qualcomm has been dormant for a while. They also had a great opportunity to break into the laptop space with Windows’ ARM support getting very good, but they’re still doing nothing…

simple,

Does anyone know if these mods work on the Game Pass version of the game?

simple,

Thanks!

Unity reveals plans to charge per game install, drawing criticism from development community (www.eurogamer.net) angielski

Unity has announced dramatic changes to its Unity Engine business model which will see its introduce a monthly fee per game install beginning on 1st January next year - a move that has already send shockwaves across the development community....

simple,

On the exact same boat. I switched to Godot as soon as version 4 came out and have been really happy with it. I still use Unity professionally (at least until Godot 4 fixes some big issues), but most of my projects are now on Godot. God bless open source devs.

simple,

Sadly I’m really not good enough at C++ to contribute.

What games had easy soft locks that prevented you from either progressing or getting a true ending? angielski

The thought came to mind after reading a recent post about Baldurs Gate 3 here but it reminded me of the Japense only PSX game Mizzurna Falls where if you don’t perform a certain action early in the game you are prevented from getting a true ending. While this might not be a traditional soft lock because you can still progress...

simple,

I almost softlocked myself in The Evil Within (the first one). I’ve used up most of my ammo before walking into a boss fight and I just barely managed to beat him by using everything I had. It does give you ammo before the fight but it isn’t enough to win, I imagine it would be easy to softlock there. I remember spending a huge time making sure all my shots land so I don’t restart.

simple,

Yeah but every NBA game gets flooded with negative reviews and these people will buy it again next year. It doesn’t matter how many negative reviews it has if it sells well.

I always have a laugh when half of these reviews are “wow guys this poorly rated game that everyone told me is garbage turned out to be garbage. They’re making the same game every year!”, fast forward to them posting the same review next year.

simple,

It’s really disappointing the game hasn’t released with mod support. People are making do by editing a few scripts, but full mod support would’ve helped this game so much out of the gate.

simple,

From Metacritic

Metacritic user ratings have literally never mattered and never been an indicator for anything. I’m pretty sure every relatively popular game on it gets “review bombed”, because anyone who actually wanted to review it wouldn’t review it there. This is non-news.

simple,

Ah yes the “everyone who likes something I don’t like is a brainless zombie” argument, coming from someone who doesn’t like Bethesda and hasn’t even played the game.

simple,

It’s obviously vastly different in so many aspects. You realize that Fallout 4, their last mainline game, was 8 years ago?

simple,

They never said the graphics were comparable to PS5/Xbox. People just assumed it was because it ran the Matrix demo, and they said it looked good.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Isn't Getting Any DLC, Says Nintendo (wccftech.com) angielski

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is easily one of the most successful games released this year. It is tied with Baldur's Gate 3 for 2023's highest-rated game by critics (both with an average of 96), and it sold an impressive 18.5 million units in just a month and a half, becoming the fastest-selling Zelda game ever made...

simple,

Kind of a shame. Can they at least release an update that adds master mode? It’s weird that it wasn’t included and has been a staple in the franchise.

simple, (edited )

Despite the fact that I complained on release that Solar Ash isn’t nearly as good as Hyper Light Drifter, I think it’s a really underrated game. The atmosphere and visuals are incredible, and the platforming is really fun. Hopefully now it’ll get some recognition.

Excited to play Lies of P when it comes out. I’ve been wanting an actually good soulslike for a while.
