sculd,

So the article is arguing what is indie and what is not…

This has nothing to do with “bubble” in the economic sense. I was worried when I read the title but looks like things are alright.

We need a timer on “time since leak being posted on War Thunder forum”

What are some games that "spin" failure states? angielski

What I mean by this, is instead of when you fail and are met with a game over, the game finds some way to keep it going. Instead of being forced to reset to a previous save or an autosave checkpoint, the game’s story continues in an interesting path. Are there any games like this?...

sculd,

Assassin’s Creed. They are basically games inside games.

sculd,

I never understand why we need gaming headphones when normal headphones already do the job well.

sculd,

There is no saving it for those who still continue to buy ships from the game

sculd,

Japan is very bad in terms of copyrighted stuff. If that person lives overseas this would never have happened.

sculd,

haha…I play AC3 Last Raven on my PSP Its going to break my hand

sculd,

That is because our mainstream culture is one that discourages people talking about sex.

And is the reason for all the sex negative discourses that people take for granted.

We need to stop making sex a taboo. More discussion/ normalisation of the topic will be good for humanity, given that it is an essential part of us.

sculd,

People Make Games is a channel that I would call game journalism. Look at their coverage about Disco Elysium, its really great.

Not counting games that were unfun because of bugs, what’s the most unfun video game that you’ve played and what made it unfun? (kbin.cafe) angielski

Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.

sculd,

Agreed. I thought I would enjoy it but ended up not liking the game play.

I want to take it slow and thoroughly examine the papers but apparently I can’t because there is a time limit each day. Extremely stressful and unfun.

sculd,

The ending is especially bad… I was rooting for some big reveal but the “twist” is just so bad it completely ruined the game for me.

sculd,

Its more like the problem of Neo-liberalism and hyper capitalism at this point…

Journalism dying is just a by-product.

sculd,

Elden Ring

The glowing review and how people say its the best time to try a souls game made me buy it.

Not a game for me.

(Just in case people start saying I need to get good. It has nothing to do with the difficulty. I am thoroughly enjoying AC6 now.)

sculd,

Nope. I did not subscribe to PS+ and probably never will unless I really want to play an online game there, which I find unnecessary at this point.

sculd,

Enshittification is REALLY going strong, huh…

sculd, (edited )

Ok so I haven’t completed the game yet (too busy with work) but so far I am enjoying it. Just finished crossing the wall.

I feel like AC6 feels like a good mid-point between AC4 (too floaty) and AC5 (too on the ground).

Maybe because I usually preferred inverted legs / 4 legs over tanky ACs, I feel like the game pretty much did what I want it to do?

Bosses in older AC entries usually don’t have a clear “tell” in their actions. It could be a good thing but could also cause a lot of frustrations.

I still remember Pulverizer from Last Raven, it was definitely more frustration than fun…

sculd,

Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix

I wonder how many people played that…

sculd,

It will be nothing like the old one…

Pushing for even more realistic graphics will make the cost of making even higher with no significant change in enjoyment of players.

Players enjoyed games when we had Supernintendos and DOS games. They actually gave players more room for imagination.

    sculd,

I dunno. I have friends who just seem to enjoy the game without stressing themselves too much…

How Spec Ops the Line Condemns the Player: A Timestamped Excerpt from Games as Literature's Analysis (youtu.be) angielski

The whole video is worth watching, but this section in particular makes a better case than I’ve seen in other analyses: that the game condemns player involvement not by simply chastising the player for choosing to continue playing itself (as I’ve seen other analyses argue), but rather for carelessly and uncritically engaging...

    sculd,

Honestly feel like Spec Ops should have added an option to just leave the desert at the beginning of the game.

Giving the player a choice will make the “twist” much more powerful because the player could have chosen the other way.

    sculd,

There are a few points I feel is pretty forced. Okay there is an hostage situation happening right now so I get it. They wanted to help.

But after they found out the hostage is dead and there are rogue elements, they should just turn back and report the findings to their superior so that they can decide whether to send reinforcements or not.

The Spec Op protagonists aren’t good soldiers. They ignored direct orders from their superior multiple times!

Ubisoft Can Delete Inactive Accounts, Making Users Lose Access to Their Games (gamerant.com) angielski

In a response to a post from the AntiDRM Twitter account, Ubisoft Support has clarified that users who don’t sign in to their account can potentially lose access to Ubisoft games they’ve purchased. The initial post from AntiDRM featured a snippet of an e-mail sent to a user from Ubisoft notifying them that their account had...

    sculd,

If you are still buying Ubisoft games in 2023 you are part of the problem.

    sculd,

Pretty sure a lot of people will embrace this mode if it exists. When you are an adult with responsibilities, beating a “challenging” game simply isn’t a priority.

    sculd,

Vampire survivor? 20 Minutes Till Dawn?

    sculd,

Whenever I see a game needs 50 hours to finish now, I just hard pass. Most games simply do not deserve 50 hours of life. Especially Ubisoft games which just patch out the length with fetch quests. Unnecessarily long games is a big problem and its partly caused by people with “bang for the buck” mindset. Do these people don’t have other things to do? Like going out? Watching movies?

Where are all the good stealth games?

I’ve been trying to find one throughout the Steam summer sale and come up dry, and now I’m out of money until the 15th. Hopefully y’all can help me find a good one before the winter sale. Here’s a rundown of what I’ve tried so far and what I’ve liked and dislike about them:...

    sculd,

I don’t understand why no one tries to make something akin to Metal Gear Solid. Everyone misses that.

    sculd,

As always, its the workers who take the fall for greedy executives.
