I still remember my neighbor getting SMB 3 for his 10th birthday.

The size of the box was a giveaway. We knew it was a NES game before he unwrapped it.

When we saw that package it was fucking ecstasy. The party was over and we all ran to the tv to put the game in and watch.

I played Panzer Dragoon and Mystaria at my friends house and was so jealous of the Sega Saturn.

This was the summer before the PS1 was released so ALL of what the Saturn had was a “killer app” as far as my 10 year old brain was concerned.

There is a good game to be made out of this but it’s nuts that this is all they have to show for it given it doesn’t do pirating as well as Black Flag did….

It’s a fantastic game covered up by bad choices.

I don’t need to get out of my ship, but maybe you could let me direct my crew on how they attack. Let me arm my crew differently. Let me change my crew as an item. Let me hire individual crew members as “items”.

To me it seems like a “we gotta get SOMETHING out the door” scenario and they made a “cohesive” game out of what was finished and hope that it lives long enough to add the other stuff.

I found myself wanting to log on last night which shocked me, the setting and ship combat definitely works for me. I wish there was more but sea of thieves didn’t do it for me.

It’s like they took Black Flag and said “everyone wants a Sid Meier pirates remake … let’s try that” but they didn’t give us dancing or ship boarding.

There is so much potential and it’s wild that they seem to have created the “core” but it’s taken them this long to get there.

100% agree, lots of open world games these days make the only reason to explore so that you can find the fast travel beacon so you never have to explore the “open world” again.

It hides shitty and half assed world building though so I guess devs got that going for them.

I want them to spin off another top down style gta game, I love the 3d but it would be cool to see them iterate on the OG style.

I haven’t picked up 4 since I played an hour of the battle pass.

They ought to reimagine the game as the rogue like it was.

I want to be a warrior with fire bolt again, let me find book shelves too!
