Because contrary to the opinion of most terminally online people, media consumption is a very tiny part of life and happiness. It’s literally non-essential.
My backlog is so large, I’m definitely going to die before getting through it.
Don’t call it that, man! games are an escape, a leisure activity. Not some work assignment you need to compulsively finish. It’s OK if you don’t play everything there is. 🙂
While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.
This is a sore subject, but I feel it necessary to add to the gaming layoff news: Telltale laid most of us off early September. Status of TWAU2, I can’t say (NDA)....
They are RPG kings but still haven’t got the nuances of perfecting an FPS down yet.
Cyberpunk is way too noisy in its visuals and sound. Even if you love it you’ll get a headache if you play it more then a couple of hours. Had it been in third person the noise would have probably been more bearable and even a good immersion feature, but in first person it makes you giddy.
Damn, every single reviewer is salty that an Assassin’s Creed game turned out to be an Assassin’s Creed game. I bet not a single one of them finished the game before penning their reviews.
This is all fine and well, but am I the only one a bit concerned about how NexusMods is practically a monopoly in the modding scene? Why does literally every modder have to use a rate-limiting host as a platform, especially when Github exists?
If you don’t have bandwidth or storage restrictions, I’ll always recommend you pull directly from a scene release or a clean steam dump instead of a repack.
Another one is close to biting the dust. Sci-Hub is out, Z-Lib got ran off like a dog and now IA is going to remove a host of books because these publishers just can’t stop being money-hungry bastards....
Honestly, for Sci-hub I think it’s just that Elbakyan got tired of maintaining and updating it constantly. That “waiting for court results” part was just an excuse, just because Indian law enforcement is too unequipped to go after pirates doesn’t mean the country magically became lax on IP law. There was no good chance she could’ve won the dismissal plea.
I can’t believe all those things in Update 2.0 haven’t been patched in already. It’s almost been THREE FRICKIN’ YEARS since launch and they’re still not done fixing essential stuff.
The people who have “learned” “the lesson” are a loud minority. The vast majority of consumers will put money wherever they feel like it, philosophy be damned.
I would like recommendations for open world games where the player has abundant ways to interact with the world, be it with the NPCs or buildings, and does not have to worry about survival aspects of the character or spending time exploring a static world. I would not mind if it comes at the cost of a smaller sized world, as...

I’ve seen a few threads on Steam lately, so it feels appropriate to me to look for some love on one of the smaller game...
Some of the most popular games are on GOG - Tomb Raider (classic) series, Prince of Persia series, Baldur’s Gate series, The Elder Scrolls series (including Skyrim) and several others. Modern titles apart from The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 include Horizon Zero Dawn, A Plague Tale, Disco Elysium and Psychonauts 2. But perhaps the best known titles on GOG are indie platformers like Hollow Knight, Ori and the Blind Forest and Terraria.
Absolutely dig the dank indutrial vibe of that game, and the soundtrack is probably the best reason for that. What are some other games with similar soudtracks?
