They can be fun for a bit. I tend to get overwhelmed with all the crap I loot. I have the same problem with games like The Elder Scrolls series. I’m alway afraid I’ll accidentally sell something important or useful, but I usually end up with a lot of junk. Lol

While I really like the Genesis/Megadrive, and PS1, I have to say the SNES is an almost perfect console. It had everything that made the NES great, but with beautiful 16 bit graphics.

It’s weird to me how no one is talking about how it has a strong and blatant anti-capitalist message. Without getting into spoilers, the ending really drives it home. I’m surprised right-wing dickheads aren’t screeching about it.

I disliked DS2 as well. All those stupid QTEs and cut scenes made it a slog. It just wasn’t fun or scary

A company focusing on f2p and mobile. Haven’t we already been through this like around 10 years ago? I don’t recall that working out too well the last time.

I love Doom but it’s better with the Brutal Doom mod. I won’t play more recent, gory, and visually realistic shooters, but BD is so cartoonish and over the top and pixelated, I love it. I wish I had the patience for longer games, but with old-school FPSs, I can play a few maps and be happy and do something else.

The industry always takes all the wrong lessons from successful games. For example, Successful Cool Game (SCG for short) has new technology x. The rest of the industry will ignore everything that actually made the SCG fun and engaging and focus on tech x, because obviously, the new amazing tech x is what made SCG successful! Hey, code monkeys, spend the next 18 months developing tech x, 6 months on the actual game content, then we’ll spend over half of the＄150 million budget on marketing and bam, we have a sure-fire hit! The game fails, and they fire all the code monkeys and close the studio. Rinse and repeat.
