csolisr,

Correct! The newer models (including all OLED versions) were already patched from the factory (or more accurately, redesigned to prevent the soft-mod from working).

csolisr,

Not sure if running from the cart slot is permitted to even detect anything not properly signed by Nintendo. Which means this one is squarely for “backups” and nothing else.

csolisr,

It does have a specific niche: users of OLED models that just want to play “backups” and don’t want to bother soldering chips to their products. A few people will like the hassle-free multicarts.

csolisr,

Even if you purchase them directly instead of using the online pass? Guess I’ll have to check it for myself

csolisr,

Calling it already, they’re only moving to Steam to aid in the anti-monopoly argument so they can sell themselves to Microsoft

csolisr,

Did they move to a non-commercial license, or was it like that when they first made the wiki on Wikia/Fandom?

csolisr,

I wonder how accurate would it be to do this setup using Dolphin and four instances of mGBA instead of original hardware.

csolisr,

It better be, because I’m tired of having so many games running like molasses on the baseline Switch - it’s literally just an overclocked, slightly improved Ouya in the inside, and it shows

csolisr,

So, has somebody managed to mod the missing Spider-Man missions into the PC version of the game?

csolisr,

And that’s why tools to migrate to another engine are now a must, like this one! github.com/barcoderdev/unitypackage_godot

What games had easy soft locks that prevented you from either progressing or getting a true ending? angielski

The thought came to mind after reading a recent post about Baldurs Gate 3 here but it reminded me of the Japense only PSX game Mizzurna Falls where if you don’t perform a certain action early in the game you are prevented from getting a true ending. While this might not be a traditional soft lock because you can still progress...

csolisr,

I went through that exact problem, didn’t have space to stuff a single item from a mission I thought would be repeatable and so I got stuck in 99% completion - the only solution was to trade it from another cart and that was not gonna happen

csolisr,

Hopefully that means the PC port is coming soon!

csolisr,

Japan has one of the most draconian copyright laws in the world. You can’t even rent your own books or disks unless the copyright holder allows for it. I’ve been puzzled at the fact that they have allowed Let’s Plays (and memes and remixes and doujin works for that matter) for such a long time.

csolisr,

Their idea of optimization in console was to cap the frame rate to 30, even on the Series X. So you can wonder what that means for PC

csolisr,

This reminds me of the McFly ray tracing plugin for ReShade - turns out somebody else has already made an open-source alternative

csolisr,

Well he managed to snag a sponsorship from Nvidia thanks to his shenanigans. Which probably says more about Nvidia than about the guy, to be honest.

csolisr,

Or at the very least, add a way to sideload DRM-free games. That’s why I love my PS3, WiiU and even my Switch to an extent.

csolisr,

Not gonna lie, I misread it at first and thought to myself “yeah, Todd Howard fans are that maniacal, makes sense”

csolisr,

I’ve been avoiding spoilers for FF XVI precisely waiting for this announcement. Hopefully they don’t pull the same shenanigans as last time and release it on Epic Games only.

Super Mario Wonder's online multiplayer may be disappointing, but we have already witnessed that the alternative would be far worse. angielski

For those that didn’t catch the last Direct, Super Mario Wonder has announced that it will feature two different kinds of online multiplayer, both very different to local multiplayer - one where you can see “ghosts” of other players currently online on a given level, which can’t interact with you directly but can give...

csolisr,

/c/nottheonion@lemmy.world is that way, Todd, please don’t trip on the low bar you set while you leave

csolisr,

I’d love to play this game, but having to play five other Armored Cores to understand the plot is a bit too much. Does the game include a plot summary at the very least?

csolisr,

Given that it will eventually be open-source: I hope somebody hooks this to a capture card, to have relatively lag-less motion smoothing for console games locked to 30.

csolisr,

Not AAA devs, they’re doing what they can. The problem is with the AAA CEOs

csolisr,

Two things:

  • Interesting to see this particular addition. Handy for the players with slower reflexes, utterly useless for speedrunners (unless it messes up with physics somehow)
  • I also wonder how will achievements be managed while the accessibility turned on. Plenty of people are out there, vocally complaining about “handing out the platinum” to people “that do less effort than I did to earn it”.
csolisr,

I’m not touching that game until they go and take the cowboy out of the game. We’re not fools Blizzard, that rename was just a cheap way to put things under the rug and we know already who’s that guy based on

csolisr,

Wondering if they’ll re-record the late Reddick’s lines to have the voice sound uniform throughout the campaign, like what happened with the Ghost back in the day.

csolisr,

The marketing states that the plush is “ready to stand tall” and has a bendable body… at least the fabric is waterproof right?

csolisr,

I had to do it once, kind of. Because of some inane reason, a version of Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle I got for Steam was not working in my country unless I used a VPN, so guess what, I had to download a cracked version of the launcher to bypass the georestriction - the “fix” wasn’t published until almost FOUR YEARS AFTER RELEASE

csolisr,

Also: I like to purchase games in the Nintendo eShop, dump them, then run them at full speed and resolution via Yuzu - best of both worlds and the developers do get paid for the hassle

csolisr,

Anyone else here staying away of Sonic Superstars because of this?
