It does have a specific niche: users of OLED models that just want to play “backups” and don’t want to bother soldering chips to their products. A few people will like the hassle-free multicarts.
Not sure if running from the cart slot is permitted to even detect anything not properly signed by Nintendo. Which means this one is squarely for “backups” and nothing else.
Correct! The newer models (including all OLED versions) were already patched from the factory (or more accurately, redesigned to prevent the soft-mod from working).
It better be, because I’m tired of having so many games running like molasses on the baseline Switch - it’s literally just an overclocked, slightly improved Ouya in the inside, and it shows
I went through that exact problem, didn’t have space to stuff a single item from a mission I thought would be repeatable and so I got stuck in 99% completion - the only solution was to trade it from another cart and that was not gonna happen
Japan has one of the most draconian copyright laws in the world. You can’t even rent your own books or disks unless the copyright holder allows for it. I’ve been puzzled at the fact that they have allowed Let’s Plays (and memes and remixes and doujin works for that matter) for such a long time.
