Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

"Formerly known as GameShark, AI Shark is set to redefine the gaming landscape with its revolutionary AI-enhanced technology,”

Also the date has been “debunked” as “just a guess” by ai shark.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I guess this is reddit and you don’t know how to read past the headlines?

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Yeah I was super refreshed when I moved here but it seems to have just absorbed all the bad habits I hated about reddit.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

…and you should read more than the headline, then you’d know that

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Leak is clickbait terminology

Just how game companies “leak” their upcoming games, but it was an official statement by a paid spokesperson

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Wait they remastered that game already? Didn’t it just fucking come out like a few years ago?

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Corporations see others getting profit as competition, and it makes sense to consolidate profits so “Everyone wins” (everyone excluding the consumer)

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Why? Because he said a $60-70 game should have nearly that amount of content?

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I never thought I’d be a luddite in my 20s.

I remember being so in love with computers and learning about technology and reading science fiction.

Now I’m a programmer and I despise the future we’re heading towards. It’s only going to get worse.

Games that require you to unlock the basic functions of the game can suck my nuts. angielski

I have recently played 3 games that have forced a lengthy, unskippable tutorial section that runs for several hours of the game, just to unlock the most basic functions like buying the items, customizing features, multiplayer, and even 2-player split screen modes....

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I have uninstalled and refunded games with frustrating tutorials

At this point in life, if a game is too complex for me to understand by simply playing the game organically, I’m going to watch a YouTube video. Reading pop up menus is okay unless they physically lock you out of the game.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I very much disagree. Games like Dwarf Fortress or Rimworld absolutely benefit from both being left to your own devices AND having a repository of information to resort to.

Games with a steep learning curve shouldn’t necessarily lock you into a tutorial, just give me the option and let me fail a few times until I get the hang of things.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I don’t think cross play for competitive is worthwhile because either PC players have an advantage in the form of mouse aim, or console players have a wagon-dick-sized advantage in the form of aim assist. Competitive cross play only makes sense if you have input based match making.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Wait, you can’t buy regular drives anymore? That’s actually kind of fucked

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug, (edited )

On that subject, I don’t know how much I’d value a “stand alone” vs just a wireless PCVR headset from valve. I’ve stayed away from the Index because of the need for base stations and the $1000 price point.

I bought a Quest 3 and while I actually really like the hardware, the stand alone games are just meh. Im spending way more time using it as a wireless PCVR headset for flat to vr mods than any dedicated Quest games.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

You could get a Pico and have it sent to the Chinese government instead. Much further away from home

As far as stand alone HMD’s go, unless they make an android or Linux based system with an unlocked bootloader, none of them are safe for privacy. I was hoping there would be custom ROMs that could be flashed but nope

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

A VAC ban is only for online games that use VAC, and even then I think they can still use community servers.

It doesn’t lock you out of your account or anything.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Note, there are some forks of OpenMW. One fore android, one adds multiplayer, one makes it VR.

Acclaimed roguelike studio behind Slay the Spire releases new deckbuilder after publicly abandoning Unity over fee debacle (www.gamesradar.com) angielski

TL;DR the developers of slay the spire created a fun free card game within 3 weeks to explore and learn the Godot game engine. You can play it here: megacrit.itch.io/dancing-duelists

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I didn’t know Slay The Spire was made in LibGDX.

I used LibGDX years ago when developing my own engine on top of it for android gaming, but gave up after a year when it became evident I had to refactor more and more because I didn’t know what I was doing when I started.

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug, (edited )

It was a jam game made in 3 weeks to see how the team likes Godot.

Sheesh

ROCKSMITH 2014 LEAVING STORES - Ubisoft (www.ubisoft.com) angielski

You may want to know that Ubisoft’s Rocksmith® 2014 Edition will be de-listed from Steam after October 23rd, 2023 which is one week from this post date. This is a game that makes learning to play the guitar like Guitar Hero/Rockband, which can score you or let you slowly practice a part with scrolling fret indicators....

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

Does it also include the game itself? I wouldn’t mind not paying ubisoft

Waluigis_Talking_Buttplug,

I find it fun. Only a few hours into it so far, but it’s miles better than the original
