SoleInvictus,

Not op, but I love tea; however, if the restaurants I frequent started replacing their drinks with a new lineup that ultimately all boiled down to variations on Darjeeling, I’d eventually find myself tired of it.

SoleInvictus,

I don’t think anybody hates real-time combat. That feels like a strawman.

I do, but just because I have a disability that makes more button presses painful and turn-based tends to have fewer per hour. I also know others who dislike real-time because they’re bad at it. I agree with your sentiment completely, though. Liking real-time isn’t exclusive of also enjoying turn-based.

SoleInvictus,

I still like FF12, although I’ve never beaten it. I had no idea people disliked it.

SoleInvictus,

Good news: a Switch emulator already exists.

SoleInvictus,

CrossCode was SO good! It’s a great game and I’m always thrilled when I find others that played it.

Did you know its studio, Radical Fish, has another game coming?

SoleInvictus,

Not OP, but I’m about 8 hours in and love it so far. It definitely has a few things I’d prefer it tweak, like a lack of HDR support on PC and no custom map markers, but they’re simply annoying, not deal breakers.

Why We Love to Get Lost in Games: The Enduring Appeal of Metroidvanias (www.nytimes.com) angielski

Interesting that in the title, stated in absolute terms in the text, and from the designers they interviewed, they cite getting lost as crucial for the genre. Personally, I disagree. Getting lost has tended to be why I didn’t care for certain games in this genre, like Axiom Verge, and it soured my otherwise higher opinion of...

SoleInvictus,

I agree 100%. I’d love a AAA game that uses the studio’s clout not for cutting edge graphics but a stellar, polished story and gameplay. The story doesn’t even need to be DEEP, just solid.

SoleInvictus,

I lost entire weeks of my childhood playing at being an ant.

Now that I’ve typed that out, bug big chunks of my childhood suddenly make more sense.

Edit: dammit. I’m leaving that typo because it’s perfect.

SoleInvictus,

I would crowdfund the shit out of that.

SoleInvictus,

Playing this game anew would be an upside to early onset dementia for me.

SoleInvictus,

Oooh, that looks awesome! I’m not op but was browsing for ideas. Thanks for the recommendation.

SoleInvictus,

Seriously. The United States just sent nearly $60B to Ukraine. Nearly 18 times more than this. If humans weren’t so intent on fighting with each other and instead spent that time, energy, and resources on advancing as a connected society, we could do amazing things. Instead, we’re barreling into the future as predicted by RoboCop.

SoleInvictus, (edited )

I totally agree with you, I’m all for funding Ukraine’s defense. It’s just my idealist fantasy that everyone one day wakes up and realizes we’re being collectively quite stupid for the benefit of a very small segment of the population and we could do so much more if we cut them out.
