From my understanding both revolve around using other people to get money, but a gold digger dose it in person, might even go as far as marriage and life insurance clames. Where as a catfish dose it online, to be able to maintain the fake persona.
So they are similar but there are some differences.
Microtransactions = I want the blue shirt, I can buy the blue shirt. The blue shirt can be cosmetic or have power boost.
Loot boxes = I want the blue shirt, I can buy a lottery ticket to maybe get the blue shirt. The blue shirt is just cosmetic. Maybe there is a way to get the blue shirt if I don’t get one in X boxes.
Gacha = I want the blue shirt, I can buy a lottery ticket to maybe get the blue shirt. The blue shirt has power boosts. Quite often, if I don’t get the blue shirt in a X tickets, I get a guaranteed blue shirt. Also a bit more often the blue shirt needs to be leveled up, using more blue shirts and/or other stuff you get from the lottery.
This is generally how it works, they are exceptions too it of course.
But that is why gacha is its own category, the lottery is required to progress the game and you need a lot of it. There is also usually multiple lotteries with different and the same prices at different % some you can play without spending money, some you need to spend money and some you can play onec in a while without spending money, but the good stuff and higher % are basically always looked in the two latter ones.
The way it is usually used and how upgrading stuff works, is very different between what country makes the game. I don’t remember exactly but the three big different ones are, Japan, China and South Korea.
The easiest different to simply explain is usually if you need more blue shirt to upgrade or if you just need more shirts or if you need shirt coins that drop from the game to level up, the shirt or if the shirt can’t be leveld up and you need a new shirt instead.
Now I have never heard the term tap tap game, so I might be thinking about different typs of games, but I think of those where you for example run forward and tap/swipe to dodging obstacles and when you fail you are prompted to buy powered ups/extra lives to continue and you buy tickets to get skins.
Aren’t those buy power ups and know what you get and lottery for cosmetics? Making it loot boxes and microtransactions.
Or am I misunderstanding what typ of games you mean? Perfectly possible as I haven’t heard the term, and I don’t play those games for long enough or often enough to remember any names.
So I have three different typ of games from the top of my head.
A game I know was a thing that got cancelled. Life by You I am so pissed it got caned. I was looking forward to it so so much.
Then a game I don’t really know if it actually was a thing, I heard about it after it was cancelled, but I can’t really find much about it. Is The Sinister Six it was apparently a game about the Spider-man super villain group of the same name, as they appertaining in Insomniac’s spider man games. All I really remember is that you were supposed to play as the villains and it sounded good, I however only heard about it after it was caned so I really don’t know much more about it.
And then there is this game that was never a thing, but an April fools joke in 2015. There would be a cross over game between The Sims and GTA. I got so excited about it, it still sounds like it could have been awesome.
Those are some different typs of cancelled games that I really miss.
I tried playing Harvest Moon on the SNES today and having played Stardew Valley for hours, I thought I'd try and see how tolerable the original Harvest Moon was in comparison. I know and understand it is unfair because there's a 20 year gap between Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley, while also discrediting Harvest Moon's later...
This will be controversial but Hitman blood money.
I have put hundreds of hours into the Hitman trilogy, but no matter what I can’t get past the first guard of blood money, that is if I can get past the clunkynes to even get to him in the first place.
I would like to try it as I have heard a lot of good about it, big portion of the fan base think it is the best game ever, but no matter how many time I trow that god dame coin the guard refuses to move and I can’t progress and that combined with general age and clunkynes of the controls don’t make it an enjoyable experience to try.
In the trilogy and Absultion if I got stuck it was at least enjoyable trying to get around it, this is just frustrating.
If you had to listen to a random rock song on high volume at random times in your videos, and having 100 of different songs screaming at you when you go about your day. You would find that annoying and disorderd.
On the other hand if you went to a rock concert or festival you would be fine with it and even expect that to happen.
I view this similar. Time Square and Piccalilli Circus are just festival grounds for adds.
I’m newish to modding games. I have been on a console my whole life and PC gaming is still relatively new to me. I’ve been modding a few games lately like Mass Effect and Baldurs Gate 3… It’s like a whole ass research assignment to figure out how to load mods. Each one different with different rules. I decided to not...
It also depends where you get the mod from as different sites offers different amount of help. On some sites you need to download, un zip, drag and drop files in different places and change files both in the mod and outside it, and other sites you just press a button and your good to go. Even when it is the same or similar mods.
So I’m re-doing some of my Do Not Press The Button (Or You’ll Delete The Multiverse) character models and I have this duck that is kind of inspired by the Companion Cube in Portal. I want to make it as appealing as possible so the players will attach to it and carry it around with them. Which looks better! I’m more partial...
The bow tie looks like a duck I would carry around and love, the neck tue looks like a duck you punch in the face. That might also have to do with the angle and eye, but the bow tie makes it look better and more loving.
Happy new year guys!😀 Just now, it hit midnight here, and it’s officially 2025. I was playing Pennon and Battle, and I realized it’s the last game I played in 2024!! That gave it a different kind of meaning. Now I’m curious, what was the last game you played in 2024?
As I have seen similar statements about purely singel player games, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to hear it about an MMO. Were there dose exist a minuscule level of reason being it, not good reason but there is still some reason in it. With the singel player games there is no reason what so ever.
Is it one of those click all pictures that contains a buss/bicycle ones. Because I have noticed that some of them after you have clicked all the relevant pictures will give you more pictures to click but there sometimes is a significant wait before the pictures refresh into the new ones, with no indication that there will be more pictures and if you press compleat before the new pictures load it will fail you.
They are speedruns of Elmos letter adventure, Clash of clan, Club Penguin and baking an actual real life pizza. So I don’t really think speedruns should dictate replayability.
Just that, and then you somehow end up with 3 credits that will forever be stuck there because nothing ever cost anything that can make the 3 go away. So you will never have a round number of credits again.
I have heard the difference of sound cards before in a video explaining it, but it is still just a wild too me to hear it, and nearly a bit difficult to imagine it actually being that way. Like I KNOW it was how sound on computers was at that time, but it is still hard to imagine my games sounding so completely differently depending on what pc I play it on.
I can somewhat comprehens the difference in appearance and sometimes game play, but at the same time not really. I have seen the same game be different on pc vs console and a third version on handheld, and while I know this where all computers, I still very much think of them in the way of game consoles you could also do computer things on, even though I know that they were computers that you could play games on.
I blame it a bit on terminology, every time I hear about old computers, they are always referred to much more similar to how we refer to games consoles today then we do with computers. It is an Amiga 500, Amiga 1000 or an Atari 7800 or Atari ST. That is much more similar in my head to like Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 2 or PlayStation 4.
I have never really heard computers be referred to in that manner now a days, they probably are to some extent in some circles, but I have completely managed to miss them, and I do have some interested in computers. Like I can tell you I have owned a Dell, a HP and a Lenovo amongst some, but I would really have to do some digging to maybe be able to tell what version of them it was.
I know my current one start with G and the following looks some what like lam, but I only know that because it kinda looked like Glam so I named it that and because I have needed to Google that exact model, to look up some stuff.
I can however understand how you feel having grown up with with the computers and now talking to and interacting with a lot of people that never experience the older ones. Realising that people have a completely different fram of reference to something is a very weird thing to experience and somewhat difficult to navigate.
I am however happy that you and other people do have different experiences as then I could learn about how sound cards made games sound completely different or how changing GPU or computers manufacturer could completely change the game.
It might end up similar to the word edge, from what I remember it is somewhat held as one of this things and the person holding it throws a fit ones in a while, when someone else uses the word, like with Mirrors Edge.
I am not that read up on this though so I don’t know the current status of the word.
Wouldn’t surprise me. The cable networks where I live gets into an argument with Discovery every time it is time for a renewal, they seen out email stating that there is a dispute and that we might lose access to Discovery’s channels. Then they dispute for a while and then Discovery comes back, until next renewal. So Discovery doing something similar to Sony wouldn’t surprise me a bit.
I remember loving it when it came out for mobile and really liking the updates for a while. Then I didn’t play it for some time as I had done most stuff and when I came back it had had some big update that completely changed it and I really didn’t like it.
I can go down to 30 probably a bit lower as long as it is consistant, that is the most important part.
It can also have a bit to do with me powering through Watch Dogs at 1 fram per second in some parts. You never notice how good 25-30 is until your frames starts camping in the singel digits.
That makes a lot of sense, especially as the sim in the picture is supposed to be a toddler and from what I remember toddlers can’t go to boarding school. That is only for kids and teens. Also from what I remember unless you bring them home yourself, they only come home if they age up.
So if the game is as I remember it, I totally understand why the toddler body freaked out.
If you want a gig like that, costume clothing, furniture, wallpaper and flooring for Sims 4. While there is somewhat of a community thing and the TOS about only having paid early access of a reasonable time, a lot of creatures don’t, and big chunks of the community will bend over backwards to defend it. So if you put out some paid stuff a lot of people will pay for it. If you don’t reales it for free after some time, big parts of the community will be mad at you, but many creators don’t follow that code and you can choose between putting up with it or just release it for free after sometime frame you are comfortable with, community stand is a month but ones again a lot of people don’t follow that and have lots of people buying their stuff.
And also if you just put out relatively good stuff, you will get a huge bonus over other people, even if you are paid only or have longer than community standard times. Because a lot of Sims 4 cc (in the Sims community moded assets are called cc while just mod/mods means gameplay mods) is really bad, with chep asset flips, theft and just really badly looking and functioning stuff and that includes quite a lot of the paid only scene. So you know the bar ain’t that high.
If you want a in game or developer official option, keep an eye on the upcoming Project Rene it’s the next sims game / sims spin off and while it is not confirmed to have paid cc and mods, there is a high likely hood of it.
You could probably find some premium codes, if you skimmed through some war and strategy games on YouTube. I see quite a lot of sponsorships, but maybe they only work for new account I have never paid enough attention to them.
Look at the Sims 4 support website, is a good start to see that a lot of people will 100% ask questions like, " Completely moded action, has a bug. How to fix it? I don’t play with any mods I promise."
So personally I don’t have any higher hopes for the Capcom audience, but credit to EA at least they just shrug their shoulders and answer " First completely remove your mods, clean the cache files and repair the game"
The way my morning routine around showers work is that I bring the clothes I will be wearing that day to the bathroom with me when I go to the toilet in the morning, and then after the toilet I undress my pjamas and immediately take a shower and then I get dressed for the day.
This can also be done if I decide to shower in the evening then I go to the bathroom have a shower, brush my teeth and then but on my pjamas that was on a shelf in the bathroom already.
Could something like that work for hygiene, you have to go to the toilet so take the shower while your in there. And have a change of clothes on a shelf or drawer in there so you can just put the new stuff on afterwards.
If you need a shower cap to shower more and comfortable then definitely get one. I never really got the point of them.
In my country we have hand showers or have a hand shower together with a fixed one in newer places. The only exceptions are public places like gym. So we don’t have as much of a need for shower caps, we can just not aim the water towards the hair. The only one I have actually seen in real life was one that came free with some magazine.
