In the mid 2000’s you got used to the trash talking pretty quick. I didn’t mind it as a kid. But over time it got tiring. When xbox live introduced parties, we slowly stopped going into public chat. It was around the time the kinect launched when we stopped completely.
There was always somebody playing with it on rather than a mic, and you could hear their whole house. The crying kids, the dog barking, having arguments with their spouse. It was uncomfortable at best.
It’s a shame because I met some of my best friends online. Now, because of time zones and work schedules, I never get to talk to them anymore. They aren’t really the type to keep up a conversation unless you’re actively talking with them daily, so we kinda just drift. Adult life really messed up my life lol.
After playing part of their game Outer Worlds, I’m not surprised. I thought the writing was alright, but the game felt lacking and empty. I was surprised because I’ve only ever heard good things about New Vegas. I haven’t played New Vegas yet but I’m assuming it’s a much better time
Yeah “uhms” and the dreaded “like” are also an issue for me too. I would like to eliminate it from my vocabulary entirely. I make videos and live stream, and I notice it a lot when I watch playback. It’s pretty terrible. Did you have a hard time ridding them from your speech? I should try fixing that.
I think the issue is possibly rooted deeper than just usage on steam. I mean I know steam could/SHOULD do more to fight it, but I mean…has said US senator looked at the newly elected government and the people that voted for said government? I mean damn dude.
The rot is deep and is very soon going to be considered “default” behavior.
Forgive my ignorance, but is Suigi new in the scene? I remember Puncayshun and Cheese, but it’s been a few years since I kept up with mario64 speedruns
I’ve recently noticed that the tactical shooter genre has kinda fallen out of favor. Games like ghost recon, socom navy seals etc. Aren’t being made anymore. I think it’s a shame that some genres go dormant for a while.
But more than that, I just want to see developers take more risks again. Indie games have been the exception here, but I remember there being so many unique games in the early 2000’s.
Brooo you can get the title of shithead? Why would you wana be labeled as straight when you could be shithead instead? lol. That’s what I would go for haha
Yes and no. It depends on the games. Usually I wait for discounts now though. I don’t have time to play every game anyways so it saves me money to wait. Even during sales, I’ll stop and ask myself if I’ll play it soon. If I don’t think I will, I usually just wait
Hmm, yeah, I get what you’re saying. I guess for me, I don’t feel like I have a ton of time to actually sit down and learn stuff, so any way I can make it more fun or give myself some kind of incentive to learn helps.
I know I want to get the end result, but it’s just a matter of tricking my stupid monkey brain into thinking it’s just fun games when I’m learning lol. It prevents me from getting bored long enough for me to dig in and get interested
