I’m really curious how the rumored price increases on games will change the entire market (if any). Currently, I have no plans on getting a switch 2 until either a must-have exclusive pops up or until there’s some price drops. I just don’t see how they can expect the average family to be able to afford the new games.
Then, on top of this, slap tarrifs on for Americans and oof I feel for you all right now. It’s… unprecedented territory we’re in right now. I hope things stabilize soon
Kinda surprised to see Shenmue at #1 It did incorporate multiple gameplay loops and detail that wasn’t usually seen at the time (or even today for that matter). It also introduced quick time events.
I guess I’m just surprised people care about it or know about it. Whenever I talk about that series people don’t seem to know what I’m talking about lol
I am very curious how they’re going to tackle regional pricing on games. $80 USD converts to $115 Canadian. No other console is pricing their games that way. At least not yet (thanks nintendo) But that would be a $25-35 increase compared to Ps5 and Xbox games.
For being a family console, it seems like a very weird decision when we’ve been hit with such bad inflation and wage stagnation in the past 5 years. I cannot see as families springing for a switch 2 as they did for the switch 1.
I am seriously considering waiting until a must have title comes out at this point because the price to value just isn’t checking out at the moment. It seems odd. The only thing I can think of is that Nintendo has to have some very good games cooking for the future because this immediate presentation was…underwhelming?
Edit: Thinking about it more, if they did price their games that way, I think it would completely price me out of new games all together. I would have to absolutely know 100% that I’m going to love a game and play it for a very long time to justify that kind of price. Very few games do that for me. I feel like that kind of price increase would encourage illegal downloads too. Especially for countries with weaker currencies
The only Gane where I thought AI was interesting was the one where you are a vampire, and you had to convince people to let you come into their houses so you could eat them.
Additionally, I could see how it would work for a “Hey you, Pikachu!” Or “seaman” game. But otherwise, I’m fairly reluctant on any kind of AI stuff. It just seems…gross. idk how to describe it but it just makes me uncomfortable
I tried no man’s sky again. I think I’m just past the intro as I got to the space station trading place. It’s interesting.

I’m thinking I’ll probably get the new monster hunter this week? I’ve been saving a gift card for a while, so that seems like it would be a fun pick. I feel like I have so many games I wana play, but not nearly enough time in my day lol
This kinda sucks to see. Less competition is a bad thing for everyone. Maybe it’s just me hanging onto every bit of nostalgia I have, but the Xbox generations were special.
I know that it can’t like…physically remove any of the good times I had with the systems over the years. But these consoles have been part of my life since 2001. So many friends and memories were created with these systems. In a way, it feels like your friend is dying, LOL. I know that’s extremely over dramatic, but like damn.
Some of the exclusives that came to the system were really special. It’s sad to see that over the past decade, there were really only a small handful of exclusives that were notable. Especially when early on we had some absolutely amazing stuff.
On a more serious note, I am extremely curious what this means going forward and how they will handle digital purchases a decade from now.
Dang it. Why can’t more wealthy people just be chill and not psychopaths. I get that statistically, they are more likely to succeed due to lack of morality. But damn.
It would be cool if somebody nice acquired the businesses.
I think a lot of my creativity is stunted because I don’t generally notice these issues in rockstars games until someone points them out lol. I think it would be pretty cool if they gave people more choice and options
I’m very curious how this one will pan out. I tried Outer Worlds, and I dropped it after about 10 hours or so. It felt oddly empty to me. I figure I should give it another shot at some point.
