BeardedSingleMalt,

I really wanted to like JFO but I just hated the combat mechanics, it almost seemed like it was lightsaber fighting underwater with how sluggish it seemed, and I hated the number of times I died early on from basic beasts just because you can’t break a 3-button combo so if they dodge ever so slightly that’s a good 2-3 seconds they have to lunge attack.

BeardedSingleMalt,

2 very recent ones on PS5

  • God of War Ragnarok: I did the story and as much f the side missions and challenges as possible. But there are a few Berserker Graves, and the final Valkyrie Gna that no matter how many times I tried it would just get absurd. I almost threw my controller through my TV a few times when trying to roll-dodge to the side for an attack after they’ve already jumped at you and, i shit you not, they change direction in mid-air.
  • Spider-Man: I did 100% the main game, all the side-quests and collectibles just not all the skills. Did all but the last DLC, but finally ragequit when trying to do the base tokens. Interior with tight corners. and you have to take out a dozen enemies including the whip-enemies attacking you from all directions…while rockets are being fired at you in the middle of 5 enemies.

Ghost of Tsushima's DLC Iki Island is the best part of the game

Hello all! I have played Ghost of Tsushima last year, and while I thought the visuals were stunning and the gameplay and atmosphere were tremendous, the game felt a bit too long and repetitive for me. The story was nice, but due to the slow pace it didn’t have the emotional impact it might have gotten if the game was a bit...

BeardedSingleMalt,

I was really into the game before the end of the first island but really started hating that there was a mongol group every 100 feet on the roads, and that even if you roll to dodge an attack if they’re mid-air lunge they will seemingly change direction mid-air and still hit you.

I took a break partway into the 2nd island and I’m still skittish about restarting because of how repetitive the game seems.

BeardedSingleMalt,

The original Saints Row was wacky enough to not be just another GTA clone, SR2 kept most of the tone but got serious.

SR3 just went completely off the rails and I loved every second of it!

BeardedSingleMalt,

Takea GTA5 (or the rumors of GTA6) approach and have the narrative swap between Mac and Jenny.

What type of game do you want to play that doesn't really exist?

Have you ever played a game and wondered what if you could do something that it doesn’t really allow you to do, for example being able to move around blocks in Minecraft fluidly instead of in sectors, edit the world in Hogwarts legacy with spells, be able to fly in a world like Elden Ring or Elder Scrolls with epic sky...

BeardedSingleMalt,

An FPS where your NPC allies/companions don’t routinely run in front of you while you’re shooting

An RPG hat doesn’t have unique items buried in a radiant/procedurally generated quest line

BeardedSingleMalt,

Radiant quests. You can never complete the game because of this, the quests are generic and repetitive and offer nothing but “stretch the playtime”.

That and mechanics like “rando dragon attacks in Skyrim” and “City is under attack” from Fallout 4. I quit F4 because I was on my way to a mission and got the "city under attack notification, and on my way to defend another city was under attack.
