well, if we’re sticking to scummvm, they offer some free games on their site: scummvm.org/games/#games
the freebies are in general fairly old (like early-to-mid 90’s dos stuff), but work fine on scummvm, hence they’re offering them there. AFAIK all of them are controlled by mouse only.
Not all of them are suitable for all ages though.
Flight of the Amazon Queen is a story set in 40’s, about a pilot for hire and his small plane crashing into the amazons while transporting a movie star. Overall theme is cartoony/goofy/comedy, with a bit of juvenile humour ( by modern standards). There are some things some could find unsuitable for children, I guess.
rubber breasts, used in non-sexual way to build a costume to fool gangsters
the “bad guys” are essentially ww2 germans (but not referred as such, iirc their faction isn’t even given a name, I think)
some alcohol & tobacco references
very mild innuendos.
Beneath a steel sky - postapocalyptic oppressive world, although a bit cartoony/comical and oddly british considering the story takes place in australia. Banger adventure game but does contain few violent deaths. I played this during my early teens, but I wouldn’t suggest letting very young kids have a go at this.
The rest of the games on there I either haven’t played or can’t recommend.
But, since you asked for games for kids to learn to use mouse, I suspect the kids in question are like 5-7? These 2 games aren’t probably for them yet.
Slay the Spire is one of those games where the more I play it, the worse I do. I did better at this game when I didn't know what I was doing then I do now after hundreds of hours in the game.
Just started playing Graveyard Keeper and it's interesting but it seems really grindy. Hopefully it starts picking up a bit as I play. I'm also wondering if I should get any of the DLC now or wait a bit. The DLC is on pretty good sale right now on Steam so that might be something good to pick up.
I finished my first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. I absolutely love the setting for the game and hopefully they'll make a sequel. Cyberpunk is going to join the very small selection of games I immediately replay. I just need to figure out how to do mods on Bazzite first.
Just finished the Run This Town quest in Cyberpunk 2077 and the VAs for Aguilar nailed it. They both have that perfect mix of smooth and threatening. I'm sad that the character is only available for that one mission. Really wish they were around more or were an option to voice V.
Apparently #steam now has a section for #games to show whether or not they are using #ai and in what capacity. This is taken from the section of Sins of a Solar Empire II
A coop PvE game for two dads and three sons?
A shooter, preferably. Any recommendations, #mastodon guys? The youngest lad is 10, so as little violence as possible. Thanks 😉
I finally managed to launch my first nuke in Fallout 76!
It only took like 2 hours of dying and confusion because there's no clear instructions....but it was successful nonetheless!😬😅
Running out of things to do now🤣might wait until the new season drops to continue my expedition grind because apparently a new Atlantic City expedition is releasing alongside the new season...
Also, does anyone know if the daily stamps for the first expedition applies to each expedition individually or if it's for all expeditions overall? Basically if I do all 4 expeditions in 1 day, will I get 20x4 stamps?🤔
You're telling me, I found the REAL Sunny in Foundation and I can't even pet her?!?! What the FUCK, Bethesda!! Most egregious thing you've done to me!!! :kek:
If anyone plays Fallout 76 on PC and doesn't mind doing expeditions, add me so we can run some sometime. They're annoying but Bethesda apparently wants to shove them down our throats because they're the only way to get some of the best stuff in the game.
I REALLY want those Union PA plans but they mostly cost a lot of stamps...😩
An online space adventure by Spellbook available in #Linux, #Windows, #Android, #iOS, and #Mac (and #Steam); that is simple yet fun. Play with hundreds of players!
Time to jump back into Appalachia! I reached level 95 yesterday.
Though, with ADHD, I constantly find myself going for the "reward based" activities like events instead of doing the story quests....I want to care about the story, but I haven't gotten much out of the quests so far in terms of rewards besides game functionality like nukes for example.😬 🤷♂️
