Actually not true, the way YouTube ads show up is more or less almost impossible for pi-holes to catch. There’s been some successes in the past, but then YouTube ads somehow find another way to circumvent it.
I watch UK TV with a VPN–BBC, UKTV, Channel 4, ITV. You have to find a UK address for iplayer, but that’s not too hard with a search engine. I started doing it with Surfshark, then BBC got better at recognizing VPNs. You need to do some homework around that, and don’t believe most online advice, as it tends to be paid advertising.
If it’s a MKV, it’ll probably have them.in the file. You just need to use Handbrake and select the correct track to burn.into the file if you convert to a MP4.
Proton is the way to go. For $12 or whatever it is these days, I get a subscription to Proton VPN, Mail, Calandar, Drive, and Pass (a password manager). I also get 500gb of storage. The VPN is fast enough I leave it on all the time, even when gaming.
I found this tool www.sidify.de a while ago. They have a paid solution, which you could pirate a crack for on a site of your choice. Maybe not the best solution, but it downloads the Tracks/Playlists/Albums by recording the audio and adding all the metadata.
Check out something like smart dns proxy, it works for all the uk tv channels with streaming services. It’s much more reliable than VPNs for that particular use case.
Anyone else has cross-seed configured? I started the process, created the config.json and now I need to configure it. It would be useful to see how someone else set it up and why. I feel the provided explanations in the config file are just a notch too high than what my hobbyist mind can understand atm. Then there’s direct client injection or autotorrent2 I still have to figure out.
For those curious, cross-seed allows you to take what you are seeding and find where else that torrent is and seed it there too, within a defined set of trackers. Perfect for sharin’ ye booty, arr!
