Listen, if you are neglecting your household chores or other important duties, then it doesn’t really matter how much time you spend playing games. Time you enjoyed spending is never wasted, and if you enjoy playing games on your downtime, then do it.
You can play both Epic and GOG games on the Steam Deck, and you can do it with or without the Epic and GOG launchers. Your choice. I did so today, in fact.
The Steam Deck runs Linux. That means anything that runs on Linux, and most things that run on Windows or Android can be run. Including Windows-only software.
Idk why people act in this day and age like the Steam Deck is some crippled device. Unless your desktop runs Linux, your Steam Deck can run more things than it can.
I’m having a ton of fun playing it with friends. One of the best games I’ve played this year. We had to drag ourselves off of it so we could go to sleep.
Have you been spending hours trying to pass a level? Or maybe you are completely addicted to a newly bought game. Do you have a question about a game or would like to share something else? In the Weekly Discussion Thread, you can do it all!...
Return to Moria. It’s a lot of fun, adventuring through a Dwarven mine with a few friends. It was hard to put down, but I suppose we need to eat and sleep at some point.
I dunno how fun it would be alone, because dwarves are a race that are all about being together and some of the features lean into that, but we’re having a lot of fun with it. It’s challenging, but not to the point where we feel overwhelmed or lost. And the atmosphere it has is just right, they did a great job taking what we know from the books and the style we got from the movies, and turning that into a video game.
First of all, punishing devs you don’t like is a slippery slope that opens a lot of people to abuse they don’t deserve. Second of all, I would be very surprised if any of those asset flip games are going to be making $200k. Third, they specifically state in the article you won’t be able to install bomb a dev just because you don’t like them.
That’s a lot of work. I can’t imagine putting that much effort into downloading, not when Usenet doesn’t require anything but a couple dollars a month.
No, that’s why I wouldn’t even ask for one. No point wasting so much time tending a ratio when I’ve got a faster experience that doesn’t require me to do anything, and doesn’t depend on random strangers to work.
Relatively new to this but, I finally got my media server up and working! I want to improve the success of the search function though. Is there a way to know if content is on usenet but my indexer is not good enough? I would rather steer clear of torrenting for now. How do I go about finding good indexer?
I’m using Geek, they’re pretty good so far. I’ve found everything I’ve searched for on them. I don’t even search trackers anymore, with how fast and efficient Usenet is compared to torrents.
I mean, if it was gonna be anyone, the Pinkertons would be it. I imagine they’re just waiting for the US to become corporate-owned enough that they can operate on US soil without getting in trouble again.
As per title. New releases especially are quite hard to find on other clients or p2p resources; what’s the best way to get them from the source so that I can share them back?
I torrent (on the same PC that I run a Plex server from), but also auto connect on my devices whenever I’m on public wifi, so speed and avoiding blocks/captchas is also important. From what I understand having port forwarding will make a big difference in my torrent transfer speeds and ability to connect to peers....
Proton is the way to go. For $12 or whatever it is these days, I get a subscription to Proton VPN, Mail, Calandar, Drive, and Pass (a password manager). I also get 500gb of storage. The VPN is fast enough I leave it on all the time, even when gaming.
I’m super lazy and can’t be bothered manually converting each one, is there any good tools/sites I can use to convert the whole playlist? I used to use youtube-DLG but it seems to have stopped working.
Depends on whether you want lossless or lossy. For lossy, OOG Vorbis is the way to go if you want to support open source. If you don’t care about that, WMA is a proprietary format alternative. Both WMA and Vorbis have better quality than MP3, with equivalent file sizes. I use Vorbis myself, because it’s free.
If you want lossless, idk, because I don’t fuck with that.
If you’re having issues with OOG, then try AAC. It was designed to be the successor to MP3, and when MP3 is phased out in the coming years, it will be in favor of AAC. I use Vorbis because it’s open source, but there are other options than that.
I’ve had this question looking at the Quake con sale, and Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth is for sale on both platforms. I ended up buying it on GOG. What is your opinion?
I’ve never had any issues with headaches, have you talked to your doctor about maybe getting a blue light filter added to your prescription? Also, you can pick a different theme for Steam as well. I’m a big fan of Metro.
This is exactly why I buy from both. I don’t want to be one of those people who is so invested in one platform that they can’t afford not to spend their money there.
OK, in that case I would see about getting a new eye doctor, if you can. If they were doing their job right, they should have made sure the prescription you got corrected the astigmatism. My doctor worked with me to get it perfectly right, so I don’t have any issues anymore with small text, including on Steam.
If you or someone else who reads this can’t afford to get glasses, there is help available. If you’re in the US, check out New Eyes, which works with those who can’t afford to have their vision corrected.
No, glasses don’t fix the shape of your eye, but they do correct for that uneven shape. I would know, because they’ve corrected my vision and it’s now crystal clear after being blurry from astigmatism for years. It sounds to me like your prescription just isn’t quite right, because you shouldn’t have any issues if they had nailed it.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not dismissing that you have a problem, and I’m not defending Steam or saying they shouldn’t have more accessible options for those with sight issues. What I’m saying is it really sounds like your glasses aren’t where they need to be, and that’s why you’re having issues. With the tech they use to make lenses these days, you should definitely be able to dial in a prescription to get perfectly clear vision with astigmatism.

If the same game is available and on sale on GOG and Steam, on which platform you rather buy it?
