I have no idea how the law works in India, but I wonder if a small business could save money by just pointing Adobe at these people when they eventually get a lawsuit threat?
You just have to use your judgement and laugh at what you find funny on your own, if you need peer pressure (opinions of others) to find something funny then it’s not really funny to you and maybe isn’t even funny for many people to begin with.
This might be controversial but maybe many Sitcoms that do this were never funny in the first place and used laugh tracks because try as they might they had to force people to find it funny via artificial peer pressure, that either constitutes of a crowd being told to laugh on cue, or a recording of them doing so, which is what a laugh track is.
Here’s the key point and why we stopped using them, things aren’t funny, people think certain things are funny, and they also think plenty of things are not funny, and like it or not people are not always going to find the same things funny.
I always thought it was because the earliest stuff was actually filmed infront of a live audience (Like a theatre) who did laugh, so when switching to non-live-audience stuff, the viewing public would be ‘put off’ by no laughter, so they injected it with canned laughter… then as time went on they realised this was rubbish and stopped it.
But maybe I’m just missing the joke in the previous two comments, I dunno.
In the earlier days it was like that but as time went on it became a technique known as sweetening to make the joke seem funnier, sometimes they would even use it to fill in silence or dead air since that was frowned upon (I wonder why people said TV rots your brain for the longest time… can’t be related to any of these practices could it?).
The beginning part is essentially saying that if people need laugh-tracks to find things funny they are dry and humor-less, a joke at their expense but also at the same time it’s 100% sincere, a person who can’t find things funny without others lacks a sense of humor.
yes, I’m aware. As I said I don’t ‘know and trust’ anyone IRL who would use this, so I’m offering them to people in the community who will hopefully use them responsibly. I’ll coach any of those chosen if they’re unsure and of course point them in the direction of the (very comprehensive) wiki.
Yeah just be careful, Torrentleech has been know to ban the guy inviting people who fail to follow the rules. So maybe do a rule pop quiz or something? Or ask how they plan to build ratio since that isn’t exactly super easy on TL.
Don’t know what you’re talking about regarding ratio… TL have by far the most generous freeleech out there. Just grab lots of freeleech and after 10 days your ratio will be high. It’s comical how easy it is to get high ratio on that site.
Sure if you use a seedbox or have a port forward VPN and a good connection. If you have a free VPN without port forward or just a slow connection then you won’t be able to seed much due to everyone finishing their downloads super fast. Then building ratio can be really hard. Either way if you go in there just downloading the movies / games etc you want and leave them on to seed you won’t, generally reach even 0.8 ratio. You need a strategy be that build ratio for days / weeks using the freeleech stuff or set up rss download of torrents for popular shows such that you get in on the seeding action early etc.
Edit: I’ve been a member for 14 years, I’ve seen countless people fail to maintain a good ratio despite trying.
Sounds like it’s not the issue of the tracker at all. Just invest in a small seedbox either self hosted or get a proper non-free vpn. Not exactly rocket science…
And I agree, I have multiple TB both ways but if he gives away invites to whomever don’t expect them to have seedboxes / a good torrent VPN etc without asking. It’s hard if you’re the person who only downloads the movies they want to watch and haven’t ever thought about seeding more than leaving the torrent on for a few days. That “works” on RARBG style sites but of course doesn’t work on a tracker like TL which bans permanently and do not give a fuck about your reasons.
Huh? It cant be easier. With just a 2TB drive and 2 years I collected 8TB in upload on this tracker alone.
This is one of the easiest if you can seed 24/7
rofl seriously? Not only will they charge for the installs, but they won’t even use the actual number of installs - they’ll guess? This is the most hilariously stupid business model I’ve ever heard of
All this makes a lot more sense with the lens of mobile gaming. Effort required is little, and margins are huge. If players don’t partake in microtransactions, you just bombard them with ads.
This is the future of Unity. They are counting on devs not even bothering with the whole monetization model and instead expect them to turn on IronSource ads.
This is going to sound weird I prefer it to the laughing, makes it feel like they’re actually finishing their sentences rather than being cut off by people laughing at random words and seemingly cutting them off. I don’t know about most people but I find seemingly random laughter at benign things to be unpleasant and annoying.
Though maybe in the future as media manipulation with Machine learning gets better maybe we’ll have a way to chop out the gaps seamlessly as if it never happened for the people that find the gaps more bothersome.
By far the most unpleasant thing I find with current implementations is the fact that most aren’t seamless and they leave a lot behind when they can’t mute the whole scene such as when it’s mixed with dialogue or background audio.
That’s true. But to be fair, I have added one song and synced a few. I didn’t do it because I wanted pay, I did it because I wanted the song’s lyrics to be on Spotify and on the app.
They built a service and people seem to like it, so I don’t mind.
And the sign said anybody caught trespassing
Would be shot on sight.
So I jumped over the fence and I yelled at the house,
"Hey, what gives you the right
To put up a fence to keep me out
Or to keep mother nature in?"
If God was here he'd tell you to your face
"Man, you're some kind of sinner!"
Sometimes there is a trick that allows to play offline (I guess to bypass tags and restrictions), things like adding a line of text to a file, always a hassle and poorly documented.
Btw, I feel like telling that I deleted my rockstar account quite a while ago, they asked and re-asked nonsense, waiting from weeks to over a month between email and email, and the worst thing is that sometimes they were in chinese. It took me more than half a year to delete that crap.

Pirating the game is a lot easier. The people getting punished are the ones who give Rockstar their money
I’m already angry enough that they don’t let me spawn certain vehicles in singleplayer but this is too much. Time to get a cracked version and uninstall that Rockstar Launcher crap.
