wildbus8979, w (rec) riseup vpn is a free VPN that supports P2P

Seems like a few people here have clearly never heard of Riseup: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riseup

It’s a volunteer and donation run anarchist collective that has been around since 1999. They have fought a number of legal battles against governments to varying degrees of success.

The people involved have close ties to basically everyone involved in Tor and should be regarded with the same level of trust (what ever that means for you). There’s also a lot of overlap with some core Debian contributors.

That said, I wouldn’t use them for P2P other than occasional use. Or if you do, consider making a substantial monthly donation. It’s a lot of resources to pull from a small organisation at the expense of people who need their services for political organizing, which is their primary focus.

tun, w Stremio + Torrentio + Real-Debrid is perfect for those folks who want a simple setup

movie-web.app is the most simple one to have.

Bananable, w Using OpenVPN for sailing the sees

Openvpn is a protocol that other vpns can use, the speed and quality would still depend on what provider you use. A provider would provide a config file that would include all the info required by openvpn to create the connection, as long as they include that then you could use openvpn.

liquidparasyte, w IP address blocking banned in Austria after court ordered ISP to block Cloudflare IP's

“We will block Cloudflare as they protect piracy sites and must be shut down!!!” - Austrian copyright court, clueless

fogetaboutit, w Is anyone else getting this message from PDFDrive?

Its a scam man

Vlhacs, w How to pirate movies casually?

I use torrent galaxy, that seems to work pretty well.

Qbittorent to get the thing you want. Recommended to get a VPN while doing so.

Dump the file into a flash drive and plug into a TV. Or setup a shared network drive. Or set up a Plex server with a basic Music/TV/Movie folder structure , have Plex scan it, and stream like your other streaming apps.

Ilikecheese, w How to pirate ESPN+?

You know, most questions have question marks. Might be helpful in preventing other people from thinking this was a guide thread and not a question.

paulie, w [Question] Spotify migration

Give Zotify a try.

LastYearsPumpkin, w Adam Savage endorses piracy, sort of.

TL;DW - he needs reference screen grabs to make his screen accurate props, but lately in browser DRM has been making it harder and harder to take screenshots (specifically using a Mac on Amazon streaming service). So if he gets frustrated enough, he’ll just torrent a HQ copy and use that instead.

DRM is making it annoying for everyone, and you never own anything if you don’t have an unrestricted local copy.

hempster, w How to pirate ESPN+?

Use either satellite piracy CCCAM lines or checkout IPTV

radau, w Can anyone recommend a VPN that has working port forwarding?

AirVPN, for over a decade and they’ve kept my ports the whole time

Ayyy i remember that place. That’s where the OG netflix ripping tool from scene was. Doesn’t work anymore sadly.

bear_with_a_hammer, w Is there any Bittorrent V2 tracker?

No, not yet, this question was probably posted by me. I’m one of the provocators to switch to the new protocol.

The thing is the most tracker admins are:

  1. Too lazy to implement it.
  2. Have too little information about its benefits.
  3. Only heard downfalls associated by compatibility problems, which were exxagerated by people who don’t like to update their software.

I even created a tool called tmrr. Which allows you to extract, compare and calculate file hashes (BTMR hash precisely — BitTorrent Merkle Root, hence it differs from a regular sha256) name for BitTorrent v2 compatible .torrents.

Which already shows some advantages of use of the protocol in user environment, like finding same torrents contents with different names, reviving dead torrents, preserving historical Internet artifacts’ hashes.

The final feature I’m going to release is the ability to download torrents without duplicates (first time in the history of BitTorrent), saving time, storage and bandwidth. Imagine downloading site, page dumps, libraries, video/photo archives and other uncategorized materials without duplicate files.

Easily finding how much user storage specific game and its developers wasted due to ineffective coding.

This feature is ready, but there are some problems in libtorrent (library that qBittorrent uses), which should be fixed by the next release (this year probably) to make it work.

Hope this will get attention from users and accelerate the switch.

navigatron, w Is there any Bittorrent V2 tracker?

I can’t speak to current state; but with any luck we are approaching / entering the post-tracker era. DHT handles the actual “tracking”, and other components are (very slowly) coming out to handle search and reputation.
