Megaman_EXE, do gaming w Lies of P is getting difficulty options to make the Soulslike more accessible [VGC]

I accidentally made the second half of the game harder for myself by not upgrading my armor. Oops. Ended up having to tinker with things for the last boss. But adjusting armor made the fight go from 2-3 hit KO’s to being able to actually take some hits. It was a lot of fun!

overload,

I didn’t think armour was anything but cosmetic in lies of p?

Megaman_EXE,

There’s cosmetic outfits and then an actual armor that alters some stats!

overload,

Urgh, wish I knew that before running the whole game lol.

DoucheBagMcSwag, (edited ) do gaming w Epic CEO says Apple still hasn’t approved its Fortnite iOS submission, suggests it’s obstructing the process [VGC]

They’re hoping to win on appeal. Once they let one of them go, it creates a precedent. I’m sure Spotify and patreon are also waiting as well

theangriestbird,

makes sense. Epic immediately started offering in-app store software, so other companies could implement Fortnite-like stores into their own apps in a way that bypasses Apple’s payment system. It’s plain to see that Apple will do everything they can to stop that from happening. Services are about 25% of Apple’s revenue, which means that if they lose most of that revenue stream, their profit margin is almost cut in half. Combine that with how much tariffs are going to cut into iPhone revenue, and now this is more like an existential fight for Apple.

JoShmoe, do games w Palworld confirms ‘disappointing’ game changes forced by Pokémon lawsuit

Palworld dev dares Nintendo to sue. Nintendo sues. Palworld bends over. Seems like everyone got what they wanted.

ICastFist,
@ICastFist@programming.dev avatar

The first attempt to sue was over copyright. Nintendo figured it had no grounds, so it went for patent bullshit

JoShmoe,

Palworld picked a fight with a bigger fish. The law doesn’t care about morals.

rdri,

They didn’t start the fight. They were sued. If you think “picking a fight with Nintendo” is something you can do any time, and on your own volition, you must be missing something.

JoShmoe,

I finally decided to look into it. I didn’t find any statements matching my claim.

uawarebrah, do games w Codemasters confirms layoffs as EA-owned studio shifts focus away from beloved rally games

Can EA stop making F1 games and let another studio do it now please?

CrowyTech,

We said that with C&C but instead of stopping letting someone else take it on, EA just stopped 😕

baropithecus, do games w Codemasters confirms layoffs as EA-owned studio shifts focus away from beloved rally games

I wish somebody would do a postmortem on the shitshow that is EA WRC, despite having the most beloved rally game dev team and the biggest license in rallying.

I’m going to save so much money by not going to the US to buy one of those… I wonder what I’ll do with all that wealth.

I can just play one of the many other very good jump’n’run games that do not cost that much money.

Unless a game is on a qualitative excellent level, as BotW and TotK were, I’m not paying 80 bucks for it.

Whitebrow,

TotK was not worth 80$.

Should’ve been an add on to BotW for 40$

Or if you never had either, both as a “complete edition” for 100$ is fine too.

Realitaetsverlust,

Disagree. TotK was absolutely worth it’s pricepoint. Not even going to argue about it, the game was phenomenal.

If I was a sociopathic ceo I would release an update for the Switch 1 that bricks it.

shinratdr, do games w Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube controller is only compatible with GameCube games, Nintendo says
@shinratdr@lemmy.ca avatar

I doubt it. Why wouldn’t it just be a modified Pro controller like every other classic controller they’ve released. My guess is they are just managing expectations that it won’t be automatically usable with every game and mapped correctly.

I doubt I’ll ever connect this to my Switch 2, it’s going to be a replacement for the aging used WaveBirds that are hooked up to my Wii. With BlueRetro as the receiver, my guess is they’ll work day 1 or shortly after. For that, they’re awesome options.

atrielienz, do games w Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube controller is only compatible with GameCube games, Nintendo says

That sucks since it has analog triggers and a lot of people I watch were hoping it could be used for certain shooters.

“We’ve updated this article to note that Nintendo has made similar disclaimers with its previous retro controllers, which have ended up working with other Switch games.”

They’re just not officially supporting it. I hope Reto will informally make Metroid Prime 4 work with this the same way as MP1. I don’t like twin stick controls and mouse controls are not feasible on the go.
