FenrirIII, do games w Would-be City of Heroes successor, Ship of Heroes, decides to launch the MMO with a $45 price tag and a $15 monthly subscription and it's, er, going about as well as you'd expect

I wish the Marvel MMO was available on private servers. Played that shit for thousands of hours before it just disappeared

Sunsofold, do games w Starbreeze says sorry, reverses price increase on Payday 2 DLC bundle: 'We definitely didn't handle this right'

Someone I know wanted a recommendation for a multiplayer game recently. One of the games I remembered existing was Payday 2. DLC and subscriptions involved? Never-fuckin-mind.

massi1008,

You boycott a game because it has DLC? That’s silly. Especially for PD2 which developed over years and added many times the content of the base game. And if you want to play a DLC mission you don’t even need the DLC; only the host needs it.

IMO paydays DLC policy was and is generally good. Recent price changes non-included.

Sunsofold,

I do, because it broadly displays a bad approach. If a thing should be in the game, it should just be in the game. There is no reason the developer has to gate things behind a payment. Terraria, Minecraft, Stardew, and so many others, all managed to keep adding content without pretending that DLC was anything more than a way to pay out for shareholders. The invasion of microtransactions into gaming has been nothing but harmful, deceptive, and malignant, and I refuse to participate.

CoH was a flawed, but awesome MMO in many ways. I’d love to see it done right, but I think they are out of their mind if this think this will succeed.

Wilco,

Go play CoH … the EMU is a perfect retail copy of the game.

zod000,

Well, as I said, it was flawed. The XP grind near the end got roooough, especially since that was still in the era of losing XP when you died. That was especially frustrating when they had lag issues that killed you and then you lost a week of progress leveling up. The game was still a lot of fun though.

RuneScape still exists?

Yer god damn right it does! Nostalgia is a helluva drug.

commiunism,

OSRS is legit on its way to become bigger than it was in 2007 on miniclip days, it broke 250k players recently I believe, there’s also been a WoW streamer exodus towards OSRS too

So yes

Still want to know if there’s any characters named Vesago in this game, if anyone finds him lmk!

Team Fortress was a quake mod

Half Life used a modded version of the quake engine

Counter Strike was a Half Life mod

L4D was a Counter Strike mod

Gary’s Mod is literally just a game revolving around you modding the Source Game Engine

Seems legit Nintendo.

Here’s one that’ll hit them closer to home: The original Donkey Kong is literally a mod for the earlier Radar Scope cabinets. Nintendo had better hope they don’t wind up with any video game nerds in any juries or they’re going to open a can of worms on themselves that they really don’t want to have wriggling all over their lap.

It’s fucking important for any gamer with a shred of concious humanity to boycott this game and make it fail.

The money this game was funded by comes directly and only from blooded oppression of a dictatorship. From forced unpresented taxes and bloody oil money of terrorisim. They beheaded and killed all their human-right activist citizens and protestors who tried to ask for their share that went to this game.

cheesorist,

mmm some mighty fine propaganda and racims you have there

answersplease77,

racism?!? what are you talking about ?? are you replying to my comment?!?

Every day I am more convinced that someone made a wish to the monkey paw for Nintendo to do something about Palworld, and now we are where we are.

bassomitron,

I truly don’t understand why anyone gave a fuck about Nintendo caring about Palworld.

JayGray91,

There’s a group of citizens of a nation that supports what Nintendo doing to Palworld devs. Back when I read the noise on Xitter when Nintendo first filed against Palworld, lots of Japanese support it because something something disrespect or some bullshit. It sickens me that they are just lying belly up drinking the shit Nintendo puts out and trying to snuff competition

My mid range 4 year old PC must be hella premium. Because I’ve had no issues playing it.

I just got a new GPU, and they gave me a coupon for the game for free. My system should be able to run it great, but I’m not even sure how good it actually even is. All the reviews I see all look like paid reviews or early access folk, or people that claim to love it to justify their overpriced rigs.

I loved 1 and 2, and then the series went downhill for me. Now I guess I have 4 but might wait a while to play it because I know a ton of patches are coming. Besides, there are a ton of other great games on my backlog that I’d much rather play with my limited free time.

If this isn’t irony, it sure is ironic.
