I helped a friend with exactly one puzzle, and thought the artstyle was cool. Am browsing this thread because I’ve heard about the hype and want to see if I ought to check it out myself.
It’s not a perfect game as I’m sure you’ve gleaned from this thread. It varies from individual to individual how much the RNG affects your enjoyment but I can understand some people’s frustrations.
That being said: it’s not a full price game, it’s an incredibly interesting and unique concept and it’s put together with an incredible amount of detail and care. It’s also made by a small indie studio, and I love supporting those. If the puzzle you helped solve seemed interesting and you like puzzles and escape rooms and piecing things together then you should absolutely buy it, in my opinion.
I’m not sure if I agree on the “full price” comment, it’s not much different in quality than Myst or Outer Wilds.
Outside of that I agree, the real deciding factor is how much RNG annoys you. I loved the puzzles and gameplay, but gave up after the “first” ending because there were a ton of puzzles I knew how to solve, but couldn’t get back to or get the right resources for them. Some might argue the RNG is part of the puzzle, but for me it felt more punishing than it should be.

Reading comments of people who (hyper-) organize their games as if it’s a project to get through and they have to work off. And I’m sitting here just playing whatever the fuck I’m in the mood in.

Ja akurat miałem problem przez pierwszy punkt, ale jak mnie jakiś serwer czy strona blokowała to się kontaktowałem z nimi i blokadę, o dziwo natychmiastowo mi zdejmowali. Tam też jest odnośnik do kontaktu, więc można spróbować.
I do the organizing with categories/tags in game libraries that supports it; want to play, playing, beaten, given up, unbeatable.
I also have something similar in Playnite, though I don’t love that program.
I also love notebooks, I keep a notebook around for writing in during games, and I set up lists for each year with a column for bought games and one for played games. With this I can see what games I have played since 2016/17 or thereabout.
I love statistics, and seeing when and for how long I played a game is fun.
Going forward? RetroAchievements, Steam, GOG, and LaunchBox to tie it all together. PSN trophy integration to LaunchBox would be cool too, because PS3 stuff is never coming to any of those platforms and I have history there, too.
For historical stuff, that’s in my memory exclusively.
Slowly making my way through the Mass Effect Legendary Edition after grabbing it during a Steam sale! I only played ME3 when I was a teenager, so it‘s really fun to finally get the full experience.
I guess you don’t get the emotional impact as compared to having played the whole trilogy, but it was enough fun on its own that it made me come back to it all these years later!

I’ve seen that there are posts of game trailers polluting the posts feed on this community. Can some action be taken on that or have them moved to their own community?

There are multiple event right now, showing a lot of new games. So it was kinda expected. I’m considering new rules about that, should be part of the new rules proposed in the community overhaul.
In the meantime, I’ll ask him to consolidate such event in a single megathread.
