We also got some lore details that confirmed the DLC takes place in the present and it’s just a different place
In regards to the DLC’s story being about the past, the interviewer asks if this means that the DLC takes place in the past, and Miyazaki denies this, saying that it takes place in the same timeframe as the main story, and the past of the Land of Shadows and Queen Marika is told in the same way that the history of the Shattering War is told in the main game.
It’s certainly alarming and I hope they make a statement for it. The idea that any EAC game could have remote code exploit means anyone playing these games could be under risk of getting hacked.
I was really excited for it before launch but now that the dust has settled I probably won’t buy it when it hits PC. The RPG mechanics are apparently really shallow and there’s a lot of fluff and sidequests that ruin the pacing. I kept seeing gameplay and I still can’t get over how tanky enemies are too, it looks like you’d wail on one enemy for 3 minutes until it gives out.
Hopefully they can pull a FF15 and fix most of the issues with the game in patches.
