Never say never in the US at least and never give these assholes corporations an inch they will screw you every chance they can and it will cost the consumer money and time in the end with these shenanigans.

inclementimmigrant,

Heard the same crap when they moved from 60 to 70 just a few years back.

Heard how video game development is too expensive while publishers posted record profits.

Heard all about how the same 50 dollar game "back in the day"would cost hundreds now, disregarding how gaming was so much more niche back then too.

Heard the same crap about how these “full price games” would lessen the need for egregious microtransaction

This will again, do nothing to lessen any of that, just push more record profits as gamers won’t be able to resist rewarding the gaming industry for their bad behavior.

inclementimmigrant,

Shareholder value and control.

inclementimmigrant,

Consumers lost that fight decades ago with horse armor.

inclementimmigrant,

I mean I completely understand.

So does that mean we’re going to see Coyotes snuggling equipment over the border now?

inclementimmigrant,

Well it is cramped in that van after all.

inclementimmigrant,

We require more minerals…100 minerals for 97 sols, and buy 10 sols for .99, 106 for 19.99, best deal 543 for 49.99.

inclementimmigrant,

I own the ace attorney and investigation trilogy on steam and they’re faithful, working great adaptations.

Plus the ace attorney trilogy is on deep sale right now.

inclementimmigrant,

From another article:

Reporting from Bloomberg indicated that Nintendo had apparently anticipated an amount of tariff-related chaos. In February, Nintendo had been building “a stockpile of millions of consoles” from Vietnam, where two-thirds of assembled consoles are now being earmarked for shipments to the US. Any Nintendo consoles assembled in China, meanwhile, would face an import tariff that—at time of writing—has risen to 245%.

Seems like they’re using the tried and true method to avoid the tariffs but I do wonder how long this will actually last then.

inclementimmigrant, (edited )

If you watch the video, it sure does seem to be what this potential scam is banking on you noticing.

inclementimmigrant,

Your friendly reminder that gaming back in 1998 was still not selling millions of copies as compared to now and revenue has for gaming has been rising significantly since.

inclementimmigrant,

Yup. Gamers, PC, console, mobile, all want their circus to escape reality, regardless of the cost short or long term.

I mean I keep hoping that gamers would have an epiphany and push back on these anti-consumer practices but I’ve seen nothing in the past twenty years, only desperate games defending being gouged.

inclementimmigrant,

What? KCD2 60 USD for the base game on release for PC and 70 USD for consoles (console tax).

If you paid 90 bucks for the base game, you definitely did it wrong.
