I decided to buy a Switch yesterday. Don’t know why. Something piqued my interest to play Nintendo. I bought it with Super Mario Bros. Wonder. It’s fantastic and light and fun and my kid loves it too. I almost regret not buying it on launch. It is such a pleasure to play a cartridge-based game without load times or hearing a fan whirring.
This was a game that was on my wishlist… But, I never managed to get it. Even when blockbuster closed and they were selling things off. I went to blockbuster, found it, went to the counter and… Oops, they couldn’t find it because someone had rented it out and never returned it.
Someday I’ll get to play it, I’m sure. Maybe I’ll install an emulator, but it won’t be the same without the controller and the CRT TV.
This is actually a good question. I hope you get some replies from serious gamers.
I am not a serious gamer, but I’ve always preferred keyboards for FPS and RTS games. Years ago when I tried an FPS game for the first time on a console using a controller it was a disaster and took weeks to get used to.
Street Fighter 6 taught me to enjoy fighting games again.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about Time showed me (again) that rebooting a franchise is worth it. There is so much to do and I haven’t been challenged like this since Hollow Knight. The levels are gorgeous and creative. Plus, the game is teaching my son that it is OK to lose and that persistence pays off.
