So many retro games are replayable and fun to this day, but I struggle to return to games whose art style relied on being “cutting edge realistic” 20 years ago.
Elden Ring and souls-like games really take a certain mindset to enjoy, and if you get stressed too much from failures, you’re probably not going to have fun.
Alternatively, if you’re someone who craves the challenge and can laugh off losing, it’s the best thing ever.
This makes me feel like there will be a large group of retro gamers who will prefer the artisan, human-made games of the past, but ultimately a younger gen audience that won’t know the difference or care.
