Same with unskippable cutscenes, especially before a difficult boss. It’s no fun to have to sit through it over and over if I’m struggling with said boss, or have to sit through a cutscene I’ve seen several times in previous playthroughs. This also applies to the game’s credits.
Speaking of gen 5, here’s a very strong sun team I’ve crafted up in Volt White 2 Redux: Sunflora with Drought for setting up sun, Sawsbuck as my Chlorophyll sweeper, Volcarona as a Quiver Dance sweeper, Victini as a Choice Scarf revenge killer and scout, Excadrill for rapid spinning Stealth Rocks away and tanking hits, and Emolga for paralyzing threats and abusing Volt Switch. Even the water gym didn’t stand a chance!
Renegade Platinum’s the way to go. There’s much more pokemon variety, the trainers are stronger and smarter, and there’s plenty of QOL fixes that make it feel more modern.
SMW was my very first video game, so that’s my choice. I’ve played both, but definitely prefer SMW because of its better controls, level design and graphics/sound. 3’s levels are a bit too short for my liking, which is probably due to being crammed on an NES cart.
The ice zone (Southern Shelf) is only the very beginning of the game, you reach more interesting areas after defeating the first major boss, Captain Flynt.
Denuvo is hardly even a deterrent at this point. So many games are releasing unfinished and broken that pirating it right when it comes out would just be a waste of time. It’s only by the time Denuvo is removed later on that the game may be in a more playable state and thus worth bothering with.
Wii. The driving always felt perfect in that game, the other games don’t control as well in my opinion. 8 Deluxe feels like a letdown with its lack of unlockable characters and karts which I felt was one of the most fun parts about Wii.
And your gun sways all over the place. Worse in 3, your character just moves their neck forward instead of using the sights when aiming. That just magically makes the bullets spread less despite not actually aiming… thank fuck for Tale of Two Wastelands.
