HidingCat, do gaming w Resident Evil 4 Mobile Will Cost $60

You know what I commend them for this. If it helps move mobile gaming away from a microtransaction pay-to-win hellscape I'm for it.

HidingCat, do gaming w "They don’t care": Inside the triumphs and failures of accessible gaming hardware

Ah, I see. I'm quite sure we're in different parts of the world and I guess my experience with parts availability was different. Here the problem is more of cost, as I'm sure your experience has shown, these do get expensive very quick, sadly.

HidingCat, do games w VR still makes 40-70% of players want to throw up, and that's a huge problem for the companies behind it

I don't think it'll be a dominant form really. It's a more immersive method, but not many games will need that. Even for me that is still thinking about picking one up, I mostly am looking at using it for seated cockpit play.

Hi Termus, I've worked in a non-profit that dealt with this kind of thing; half of our focus was on people with disabilities. What I like about the XAC is that it has a 3.5mm jack for every button that the XBox controller uses, and the advantage of that is that you can use ANY accessible input that is available under the sun. You didn't have to buy the MS or Logitech accessories for them. I'm wondering why you felt you had to do that?

I agree that Sony's effort is not as good. I feel like it was created for marketing and coolness first.

MS's Adaptive Controller is actually really good, compared to the PS one. Giving easily adaptable 3.5mm jacks to every function was a genius decision.

HidingCat, do games w EA Sports has delisted its FIFA back catalogue from digital storefronts

Probably not, and also why the delisting might not be that big a deal. The whales were always going to get the newest version anyway.

HidingCat, do games w Why does everyone swear so much in The Witcher 3?

Isn't it because the world's a bit shit too? XD

HidingCat, do games w Dusk: Unpopular opinion: I'd rather pay Valve 30% and put up with their de facto monopoly than help Epic work towards their own (very obviously desired) monopoly

Capitalism and a free economy are good when it's serving customers by making the best product or service possible, while balancing that with paying labour to make that happen.

The problem is that nowadays, there's a third party to this for the megacorps: Shareholders, which is where the enshittification begins.

Valve is a private company, so it is not beholden to any external shareholders, which is why it's been able to chart its own course. Still, I do worry what will happen when Gabe steps down.

HidingCat, do games w Steam’s latest hit is a generic F2P co-op third-person shooter – but not the one that launched last week

Yea, I don't think the Chinese are as bad as them!

HidingCat, do games w Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Review Thread (90/100 OpenCritic)

Feels like being a patient gamer wins again. Will pick this up at some point.

HidingCat, do games w Microsoft’s Phil Spencer says acquiring Nintendo would be ‘a career moment’

I don't really like Nintendo's stuff that much, but really, that would be a bad outcome for the gaming industry as a whole.

HidingCat, do games w Respawn added a new game mode to Titanfall 2 today, just called "???" The description is "Your rockets will blot out the sun" (reference to 300/Battle of Thermopylae)

Is it time for Macross Missile Massacre?

HidingCat, do games w Marvel's Avengers goes on sale one last time before being delisted forever

Sorry you got downvoted by this Lemmy circlejerk. There's a certain toxcicity in these parts; basically anything not Linux and offline with the slightest hint of privacy issues is downright hated here.

HidingCat, do gaming w Marvel's Avengers drops to $3.99 to make way for its delisting later this month

Thanks, that sounds short enough!

HidingCat, do gaming w The Elder Scrolls VI will skip PS5 and isn’t coming until at least 2026

Especially when it's being run by a terrible project manager like Chris Roberts. Dates will be missed.

I'm surprised they're putting more effort into Squadron 42, it's the only part I was interested in. Wonder if it'll actually be released.
