I actually enjoy retro gaming. Earthbound and mother 3 are my favorite games! The professor Layton serie is also great! The thing is, while retro games are a huge source of “free” games, they’re often too hard. I also found myself falling in a rabbit hole with an entire generation of retro games that nobody cares about anymore despite being full of great games : flip phone java games" (j2me). I highly recommend trying them if you want to play games on your phone without being thrown a billion ad and microtransactions. Just play the touchscreen variants and your golden. Some good games are : doom RPG 2 and Wolfenstein RPG, literally any game by digital chocolate.
thanks a lot for recommandation, sea of stars and pizza tower look 👌! and yeah my machine isn’t capable to run bigger 3d games. Lol.
The only way I can access games is by pirating them and I don’t pirate indie games unless they already pretty successful and it wouldn’t hurt them. Yeah, even that 2.99$ is too much when you live in shitty third world country.
Tried fez and didn’t even continue past the first 30 min
Tried Undertale, but basically knew the story already from spoilers, and it was kinda boring, uninteresting and too hard.
Played Crashlands and it was a grindfest that actually made me relieved that I finished the game, only to discover it was planet 1 of 3. 👉Uninstalled.
Really enjoyed fear and hunger despite being shit at the game and ended up just cheating. (Was still freaking hard 😭)
Finished and enjoyed Limbo.
I just want a game with a great story, a gameplay with medium low difficulty that isn’t a grindfest and isn’t too long ( usually caused by the endless grinding).
Years ago, it was really big. I often heard about humble bundle online, but now it’s very rarely talked about. The only time I recall reading about them recently was an article about how they’re struggling.
Same. I was actually relieved to beat the first boss thinking it was the end but i was sent to another planet or something. Played a few minutes and it’s the same gameplay. I quit the game and deleted it.
I watch bluey with my 2 years old niece to teach her a foreign language and it’s one of the rare shows along miraculous where she can watch and ep or two before getting bored and deciding to go back to play with her toys instead. ( my sister made sure to not get her addicted to any screen but her husband got the kid slightly addicted to a few youtube songs anyways…🙃).
Bluey is a great show, but it leans to much on the “parents life amarite” side. I miss the old cartoons that were crazy and funny enough to keep kids watching but self aware enough to keep it watchable and enjoyable for the parents too, just like old cartoon network shows. We adults can enjoy some wackiness too.
Am not an expert but i think particles and physics are both calculated by the CPU. Both very intensive tasks. Graphic wise, from looking at the screenshot above, it seems they only lowered the quality of model and it looks awful because they went for realism. The not so easy fixable problem is the characters design, Switch games look cartoonish for a reason.
If it was just an engine then the GTA 3 “port” is i believe legal. Just another company abusing it’s power.
As for GTA 5 VR, I know they can’t make any money of their work or they’d have something worse than a just a mere DMCA ( Nintendo made someone pay it half his income for life ) but I know the most devs are mostly doing it for the challenge and more importantly out of love for the game. As an exemple, here’s someone porting portal to the N64
The fear of landing in hot water argument is very probable although i never heard someone got in troubles for saying who gave the DMCA. For the GTA 5 VR and GTA VC ports, it’s understandable since it’s using copyrighted material. This is a new game that was inspired by older games, the takedown sets a dangerous precedent. Imagine if every silent hill inspired game was sent a DMCA…
While you comment and the books recommendation are very interesting, it still doesn’t explain why he had a copyright strike. By whom even ? The copyright infringement notice would certainly explain what he did wrong. I don’t think it’s gameplay related because if gameplay mechanics were copyrightable EA would’ve done that years ago. If it’s story, name related it wouldn’t be the first time someone is forced to change them because copyright. Unless, he provided some more explanations i would think he just got tired of working on the game and wanted an exit.
Bit fishy. Subway surfer is copy of temple rush. Angry birds a copy of crush the castle. All the breakout clones? If his game violate copyright then those games too.
