Maybe pixelart adjacent? The textures are clearly chunky as is the foliage and many other transparencies. It’s a 3D world but so is Prodeus and Dead Cells. Both use pixel art masking (not sure what it’s actually called) to make it pixel like. Dead Cells is more pixel art than Prodeus but they both bend the rules of pure pixels compared to Terraria. And I like that!
Everspace 2 (first one was a rogue like, you don’t need to play it to enjoy the sequel)
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw (also a sequel, the first one doesn’t have a Y axys so you may not like it)

All three are a lot of fun, neither are AAA games so they lack a bit of polish but aren’t vanilla as hell either. I enjoyed each one better than Starfield but neither as much as ME 1-3.
Same, and it’s great! I can’t wait to dive back in. But I need to read the stuff more because I get lost and I feel like they’ll tell me what I’m supposed to be doing.
I swear when I had dial up I could tell how fast my connection would be by the sound of the static. If it didn’t sound clean I’d get a crap connection and just hanging up and dialing a different connection number would do the trick.
Good point! They could have even had a period accurate trailer, with that guy with the really deep voice like in movie trailers back then “A game, 20 years in the making…”
Exactly! I spent an entire night playing a football game over and over in my head that didn’t happen and wasn’t important to the team. But John Elway just could not throw for a first down to save his life…
Good choice, a favorite of mine as well. In the middle of the night when I’m supposed to be sleeping with a theme that often makes no sense in reality but I’m bought in 100% anyway until my alarm goes off.
