Super impressive reviews so far. I think we can expect the average score to go down slightly more as more mainstream journalists find the time to play it, but still huge props for getting such high praise.

Edit: The average rating has since gone from 95 to 90

Of course this had to come out in the most busy time of the year… I’m already trying to finish Blasphemous 2 before starfield comes out…

There isn’t any outrage or anything, I wouldn’t feel too bad about it because it seems like an extremely generic shooter with mictrotransactions and menus that look exactly like Destiny. It just had terrible marketing and was very uninspired.

Also the minimum specs are so high that most people can’t play it, and it runs very poorly.

Not to mention releasing so close to other popular games like Armored Core 6 and Starfield

$200 for the 6700XT is a pretty good deal. It’s up to you if you’d prefer getting used or getting something with warranty.

For what it’s worth there’s an open source launcher that is 100x better than Epic’s official one called Heroic. You can use that if you want to avoid their slow, ad-spamming store.

I don’t see how a 3D game could ever achieve the same level of greatness and immersion that HLD did.

Well, this isn’t their first 3D game. Solar Ash came out a while ago and while it wasn’t as good as HLD I felt like it was a pretty good game overall.

Now if only they could backport those features to Elden Ring!

I wish… Elden ring actually has support for these features but you can’t enable them while playing online because it tampers with files. There are mods for enabling widescreen and unlocked FPS that have been around for ages and work perfectly.
