Random Screenshots of my Games #21 - Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (lemmy.world) angielski

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an incredible game dealing with psychosis and mental trauma. It’s about a Celtic girl named Senua who is journeying to the Viking Hel to bargain with Hela for the life of her lost love. She literally carries his head in a cloth tied to her belt....

shalafi,

How is it played? 3rd person?

shalafi,

We had the coin op at the local movie theater. Didn’t play much as a quarter was real money and I lost so quickly.

Anyone remember the vector graphics Star Wars game? Man, if I could have any vintage game in my house…

shalafi,

Dial it in if you want creepy vs. scary. Make them mostly normal with an uncanny feature or two, and make those different for each one.

The post below about putting human eyes on one is a great example.

shalafi,

Might be banned as a “balisong”. Lost mine, but I had it in my utility belt to work at camp. Worked well when I had another handful. Takes some practice to get the swing of it down pat.

shalafi,

Yes. This is exactly how capitalism is supposed to work. The corporation bows to the wants and needs of the consumer, or they risk being replaced.

And this is an even greater example, consumers telling a mega-corp to get fucked and getting results.

But don’t let me get in the way of you kids and your anti-capitalism bent, typed on a machine made possible by capitalism. If I could send every fucking one of you back to the 70s and let you get an eye full of communism, I’d deport every one of you to the USSR.

Public Ownership of Rail Is on the Agenda. Here’s What It Could Look Like. (jacobin.com) angielski

Railroad Workers United (RWU), a caucus of rank-and-file workers spanning all thirteen national rail unions, recently released a video offering one answer to the rotten state of US rail. “Putting America Back on Track: The Case for Public Rail Ownership” opens in East Palestine, with a resident of the area showing the viewer...

shalafi,

Perfect! Just like the interstate highway system, one of the smartest and most successful initiatives in American history. And like the interstates, this is a solid investment of our tax dollars.

Let the private operators fight over pricing, both for commercial and private use. That’s a win for everyone, and the environment.

If I could hop a train to New Orleans and just chill for a few hours, I sure as hell wouldn’t drive. People like me could move around, stimulating economies far from home. That in turn would drive cities to invest in infrastructure, give people a reason to visit.

shalafi,

Seriously, I’m in NW FL, nowhere near real cities, but this seems spot on.

shalafi,

HL was game changing. Look at these specs:

MINIMUM: 500 mhz processor, 96mb ram, 16mb video card, Windows XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

RECOMMENDED: 800 mhz processor, 128mb ram, 32mb+ video card, Windows XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection

I didn’t even have min specs and it rocked out. I think I had 400Mhz, 32mb RAM and an 8gb card? It won’t run on a potato like Doom, but it was a shocking step back from the ever-increasing specs required at the time.
