Steam Deck Won’t Survive 2025 Without A Significant Upgrade. - (Original clickbait headline and not my opinion!) (www.forbes.com)

I personally have a huge backlog of games I’m happily playing through on the deck. And, having been burnt a few times (Cyberpunk, No Mans Sky …), I very rarely buy new full priced games anyway (better to wait for a discount and some patches!)...

sanpo,

It’s not even about the lower specs, it’s the optimization in general.

My PC is a little old, but still fine for most games up to medium settings.
But when I tried FF XVI, which is mentioned in the article, I couldn’t get anything close to acceptable performance with everything turned as low as possible and looking like shit.

sanpo,

I’m surprised it’s not cancelled yet.

I think at this point its development is even more troubled than the original, which is kinda impressive in its own way.

sanpo,

Right, that’s why I’m not convinced this will ever actually release.

Abandoning all previous work, and the fact that new devs don’t exactly have experience with this genre…
I’m still gonna give it a try, but I’m not hopeful.

sanpo,

That’s not really on Valve though.

It’s the hardware makers that needs to step up and make sure their Linux drivers are well written.

I’m tired of having to install patched kernels to get basic functionality on laptops (looking at you Asus!).

sanpo,

This is the exact type of comment that led the dev to abandon everything.

It’s not “the incest game”, the topic of incest barely even appears only if you make several specific choices in the game, and even then it’s never painted in a good light.

sanpo,

Apparently it wasn’t just drama. Steam post doesn’t mention that, but it seems the dev was doxed just before making this decision. :/

Is Star Citizen's new server meshing tech plagiarized? angielski

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask, but am I the only one who thinks that Star Citizen’s new server meshing technology is an old hat? I believe it’s the same technology that a few highly scalable Minecraft servers have been using for years. WorldQL introduced this back in 2021, but I think the idea was around even...

sanpo,

What are you even trying to say?

You acknowledged yourself that the idea is older than whatever Minecraft did, so how exactly did Star Citizen steal anything?
Did Minecraft steal the idea from EVE Online which only had “one” server since the beginning?

Besides, distributed computing is nothing new.
Or are you going to accuse Star Citizen of plagiarizing the idea of using Internet to connect to their servers since someone else also did that before?

There’s plenty of real issues to complain about regarding Start Citizen, you don’t need to invent made up ones. :/

sanpo,

It wouldn’t be nearly as good. VR is what makes this game as good as it is.

sanpo,

Not replying to the dev’s messages and not paying them for 2 years is not an innocent mistake.

sanpo,

Sure, but if they weren’t allowed to sell these items in the first place it’s on them, not Sony.

This really looks like a company trying to stir up drama in their favor by withholding important context.

sanpo,

What’s your point? Microsoft is easily several times bigger and is a “noticeable thing” in pretty much every country.

sanpo,

So, what, unless OP somehow changes their habits to buy literally zero of anything produced by unethical companies it’s not even worth trying?

Not sure they’re the ones that need to grow up and be less edgy…
