“I make mobile games with predatory in-game purchases, that’s a hobby for grown-ups”

mossy_,

Monster Hunter Rise, although it’s not exactly open world

mossy_,

Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector. You put down furniture. Cats sleep on the furniture. You get gold to buy more funiture, and the cycle repeats.

mossy_,

Admittedly I haven’t played it in, like, five years but when I did it only had banner ads in the pause menu

mossy_,

The review bombing was serious but I’d eat my hat if this stunt cut revenue by more than 10%. I don’t have anything for Helldivers but here’s an article about Dragons Dogma 2

mossy_,

It means the two million people playing it now have to get emails, promotions, and keep sony products in their mind.

They obviously didn’t think it would be popular. Just like Wizards of the Coast when they tried to put out a new license that said “anything with the words ‘dungeons and dragons’ on it becomes our intellectual property”, they assumed that pissing off their entire fanbase would be net positive because people will keep buying their stuff no matter how bad it gets.

It’s incomplete in certain areas, inventory management is a nightmare, and the mini bosses in dlc areas (gorecyclops, undead dragons, wargs I think they were called) take ten minutes of healthbar whittling and they respawn when you rest.

But the true test is whether the game is fun to play, and it is! Regardless of which class you’re playing, the game lets you feel like a badass. I’d just recommend playing with some QOL mods.

mossy_,

Can I hear your fallout 2 rant anyway? I only played the modern ones, and nearly totally ignored the strategy involved in VATS in favor of just shooting enemies in the head myself.

mossy_,

Sheesh. I wasn’t expecting to hear ‘unhinged’, but if you’re saying it’s like the “wild wasteland” modifier in New Vegas that makes sense. Would you say the fights are more difficult than the fps ones?

What games do you recommend for my girlfriend? angielski

My girlfriend has never really gamed. But she’s now forced to move less than she would like to (health problem) and she’s getting bored. I was thinking of introducing her to a game or two that we could play together. She’s not the real action game type, and seeing as she has no experience with controller/mouse and keyboard...

mossy_,

It’s about ripping up a living, crying toy while it begs for its life, after chasing it through the area. It made me squirm and I’m a grown-ass adult.

mossy_,

I miss when games used to be good. Anyone 'member Vampire Survivors, Lethal Company, Bug Fables? Developers these days just can’t compare.

mossy_,

Is your point that developers today aren’t as good/benevolent/whatever as devs back in the day? I’m saying (sarcastically, I suppose) that the same type of developers exist today. What does survivor’s bias have to do with it? Is my point moot because GMOD exists?

mossy_,

What are you, a shareholder? Why does the ‘rate of success’ matter? I didn’t list three games because there were only two gems.

It’s like being at the library and saying “fantasy authors will never compete with what JK Rowling was writing, just look at how many books are here!”

mossy_,

This is absolutely a tone shift from R&C and Splatoon but you could try Warframe. It is a third-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on movement. It’s not huge on platforming but the gunplay is nice.
