This is not a criticism - I love how much attention this game has been getting. I’m just not understanding why BG3 has been blowing up so much. It seems like BG3 is getting more attention than all of Larian’s previous games combined (and maybe all of Obsidian’s recent crpgs as well). Traditionally crpgs have not lit the...
I’ve been closely studying dialogue and cinematography in video games lately. Try to detach the dialogue system from the dialogue. What’s the best? Was it technically multiple systems or just one?
Yeah and dos2 they really figured out the formula. Bg3 feels basically like dos2 but with a lot more story and cinematics, but not to say dos2 didn’t already have a ton too. It’s a good thing though, both games are amazing.
Idk about that, it’s very very hard to compare the two and to which is better. Objectively, they’re both amazing games and very high quality. Think from there, what determines what’s better is what your preference is. I like them both for different reasons and can just tell you I’m immersed and having tons of fun with both.
Honestly that’s my biggest complaint tbh. I just don’t like DnD combat. Miss rates are way to high and feel awful. It’s way too RNG and I have to save scum like crazy.
No Man Sky definitely has that open world sandbox itch. There’s a lot of stuff to do it. Also go and pirate tears of the kingdom lol, it’s super fuckin good.
People feel overwhelmingly negative about the game. This is an accurate representation of that. I don’t see the issue here. It’s one of the few ways to get Blizzard to actually listen, they can’t ignore the public perception here like they do on literally every other platform. It’s a massive money hungry studio, no need to defend or feel bad for them.
At some point in this millenium, it became ubiquitous in games to ask for a button press before switching to the main menu and it has become a pet peeve off mine....
I think the most common answer is going to be Tears of the Kingdom, and that is one for me that stands out for sure, but I will try to add some more unique inputs as well. Many are games that came out longer than a year ago, but i didnt get around to playing until more recently....
Just like you, Tears of the Kingdom. I played for 140 hours before attempting the final boss. Man, was it worth it. That ending was one of the best and most satisfying endings I’ve ever had to a game.

For me it’s first person puzzle games. I can think of maybe a dozen off the top of my head that came out in the last decade. I especially enjoy when they’re open world. The ability to just quit a puzzle that’s stumped you and go try something else for a little bit is incredibly refreshing.
Reminder that Microsoft is trying to shift Windows to be entirely cloud based, so this can easily happen overnight without your consent. You don’t own your OS. Linux is the only way, unless you’re one of those strange BSD folks.
